"SUMIRE UESAKA LIVE 2023 TALES OF SUMIPE Doujin no Sho", the second day of Uesaka Sumire's live concert held in March 2023 to mark the beginning of her 10th anniversary year as an artist, will be broadcast and distributed exclusively on WOWOW from 5 pm on May 4, 2023. Ahead of the on-air broadcast, a digest of the live performance with Uesaka's comments has been released, and new photos taken during the interview have also been delivered.
Uesaka Sumire is a popular voice actress who has demonstrated her acting ability by playing unique roles in numerous anime productions, including her appearance in the popular anime "Pop Team Epic" in 2018, her role as the heroine Ram in the new TV anime "Urusei Yatsura" in 2022, and the role of Cat Girl in the stage "GeGeGe no Kitaro". She has further expanded her activities by serving as MC for a variety of voice-over variety shows.
Her cute charm and unique musicality have earned her the nickname "Sumipe" and support from a wide range of people, including her fans. This year, 2023, marks the 10th anniversary since the start of her activities, and she released her 13th single "LOVE CRAZY” in February as well. The opening event of such an anniversary year was the solo performance "SUMIRE UESAKA LIVE 2023 TALES OF SUMIPE Unmei no Sho / Doujin no Sho" held on March 18 and 19.
WOWOW will exclusively broadcast and distribute the second day of the performance, "Doujin no Sho," from 5:00 p.m. on May 4, with all the songs uncut and plenty of MC. This will be the first time that Uesaka's live performance will be broadcast on TV. The setlist included "Ram's Love Song" and theme songs from anime such as "Hozuki’s Coolheadedness" and "Pop Team Epic," which reflected her own works and thoughts over the past 10 years. Kenji Kamiyama, an animation director and scriptwriter known for ‘Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C’ and ‘Eden of the East’ series, produces a new anime feature. The title and a teaser visual were announced. The broadcast is scheduled for January 2021. Kamiyama’s new work, directed and script written by himself, will be broadcast as a WOWOW original anime feature to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the service. The title was announced to be ‘Eternal 831’. With the tagline “Who restarted time when it stopped?", the teaser visual released this time shows a male and a female characters looking up to the sky. "Eternal 831" is the new long feature film to commemorate the 30th establishment anniversary of WOWOW with Kamiya as the director & script writer. The story take place in the modern era that is filled with turmoil due to the "unprecedented great disaster". The young boy Asano Suzushiro, who possessed the unexpected "power" to stop the time of his surrounding, encounters the young girl Hashimoto Nazuna, who has the same power.
