The international animation film festival “Tokyo Anime Award Festival 2022 (TAAF 2022)” will be held for 4 days from March 11, 2022 to March 14, 2022 at Ikebukuro. As the attempt to connect the creators around the world regardless of the situation, they will conduct “TAAF Online”.
Upcoming “TAAF” in 2022 is the 9th festival, and it is originally the international animation film festival that was derived from and developed “Tokyo Anime Award”, which used to be a program of “Tokyo International Anime Fair” held in 2002.
The festival is run with the goals, “To find and educate the people to support the anime production for the next generations, and to promote growth of Tokyo animation cultures and industry” and “To promote charms of Tokyo and to financially support the sightseeing industry of Tokyo”. Moreover, with the catchphrase, “to make Tokyo the hub of animation”, it aims to broadcast high quality work with originality from all around the world, in Tokyo, to provide the opportunity for the fans to interact with anime fans around the world, to provide stimulus and emotional movement to the creators and viewers, and to create a new wave of animation derived from such an impression and stimulations.
This time, new program called “TAAF Online” will be held. In addition, the comments and event information from the festival director Takeuchi Kouji have arrived.

One important role of the film festival is to connect people. Therefore, we will use online for Tokyo Anime Award Festival 2022 and release the restriction of place by actively using the online format, restriction of time through making the event on demand, so that movie and people, and people and people can be connected no matter what situation we are in. Our goal is of course, to make direct interaction at Ikebukuro with creators and fans around the world. Hoping that to become real, we are currently planning the programs that we can especially enjoy online at TAAF2022.

As the live streaming talk event, high-quality Japanese student works and the movies nominated to TAAF2021 Short Animation Competition Category will be streamed. Moreover, with the student movie producers, and the people who are active at the forefront of the Japan’s anime industry,, the talk show will be held on each movie.
