March 29th is Suwabe Junichi’s birthday.

Suwabe Junichi made his debut in the 1990s. At the 6th Seiyu Awards, he won the singing award as a member of ST☆RISH. He won the Supporting Actor Award at the 7th and 12th Awards and the Personality Award at the 13th Awards.
He has appeared in a number of titles in the 2021 winter anime season, including “Kemono Jihen” and “Dr. Ramune: Mysterious Disease Specialist”. In the future, he will be appearing in “Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash” and “Ryoma! The Prince of Tennis: The New Movie”.

To celebrate the birthday of Suwabe Junichi, we conducted a questionnaire titled “Who is your favorite character that Suwabe Junichi has played?” During the survey period from March 14 to March 21, we received responses from 488 people.
The ratio of male to female voters was about 15% male and about 85% female, with the majority being female. About 35% of the respondents were under 19 years old, 20% were in their 20s, 20% were in their 30s, and 20% were in their 40s.

1st Place
The first place went to Viktor Nikiforov from “Yuri! on ICE”. With an approval rating of about 30%, he topped the list for the third year in a row.

With comments like “Suwabe-san’s gentle and deep voice is perfect for the role of Viktor, a rookie coach who has won five consecutive world championships.”, “I love it because I can hear a variety of voices, from cute to sexy.”, and “As the story progresses and he becomes closer to the main character, I am fascinated by his sweet and gentle voice.” It has been four years since the TV series ended, but it is still highly popular.

“I’m looking forward to the movie version, which I’m sure will bring a new charm to the story,” said a number of people with high hopes for “ICE ADOLESCENCE”.

2nd Place
In 2nd place was Aizawa Shouta of “My Hero Academia”. With an approval rating of about 8%, up from 6th place last year.

Aizawa Shouta is the homeroom teacher at Yuuei High School’s Hero Department, Class 1A. “He is a cool rationalist, but he actually cares about his students more than anyone else. The way he puts his body on the line for his students is truly heroic!”, “I admire Suwabe-san’s ability to play a wide range of roles, from his usual dour mood to his dignified mood as a hero protecting the students and the world”, “He is a very strict character, but I thought it was amazing that he was able to play with kindness inside!” The gap between the two sides of the character has won the hearts of the fans.

3rd Place
The 3rd place went to Atobe Keigo from “The Prince of Tennis”, with a very small gap between him and the 2nd place, the same ranking as last year.

“This is the character that made me get to know Suwae Junichi. Atobe Keigo looks perfect in every way, but he makes a lot of effort without anyone knowing it, so he’s cool” and “He’s rich and egotistical, but he takes good care of the club members and loves his friends. I feel like I can follow him!” He has an overwhelming charisma.

I was captivated by Suwabe-san’s sexy voice through Atobe Keigo, who is so beloved that he gets his own commercials,” said one commenter, referring to his appearance in a commercial in 2020.

As for the character of Ryoumen Sukuna in “Jujutsu Kaisen”, they said, “No one but Suwabe-san could play the king of curses Sukuna so perfectly! and “I thought he played the difficult role with both roughness and dignity beautifully.”
As for Laurent Thierry in “GREAT PRETENDER, “Suwabe-san’s performance expressed Laurent’s shady character (lol). It was very nice and sexy! The story is very interesting, and I highly recommend it!”

As for Archer from “Fate/stay night”, they said, “I love the last line of “Unlimited Blade Works” very much. I still get emotional when I hear the gentle voice of Archer, which brings out the cynical and harsh character of him before he passed away..”

In “His Majesty’s Dog,” his Majesty’s dog (Lucifer) is described as “noble and beautiful, as big as a pony, and runs as fast as the wind…. But he is a healthy dog who loves his owner, Nobunaga. I want to see Lucifer again. I hope they’ll perform it again.” There was also a vote for the music reading play that won the Synergy Award at the 15th Seiyu Awards.

In the 2021 version of the survey, the top spot remained the same, but several new characters also made the list. In the top 20, characters from titles that aired in 2020, such as “Jujutsu Kaisen” and “GREAT PRETENDER,” are also ranked.
