In 2024, the world is collapsed. 15 years have passed since an unprecedented disaster. Abandoned Japan is infested with Monsters called “man-eating Hiruko”, and humans have been living in a limited area while helping each other. One day, Kiruko, who is running a handyman service in Nakano, Tokyo, receives a mysterious request, “Take him to ‘heaven'” by a woman. A boy named Maru is left with Kiruko by a woman that has left the message and died. He says “There seems to be someone looks like me in ‘heaven'”. What in the world is “heaven”? What will happen when they reach there? The story follows Maru and Kiruko traveling in search of heaven.
The latest teaser PV reveals a part of the story, and depicts devastated Japan in 2039 due to an unprecedented disaster and the town of “Makyo (place infested with demons)” with spectacular and precise animation, effectively inserting several scenes that will be a key to the story. The powerful images of Maruko, Kiruko, and others in search of heaven, will surely raise your expectations for the anime.
