The third and final act of the trilogy, “Hana no Maki,” the latest installment of the “Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru” series, is currently being screened in theaters from September 1, 2022. From the “Hana no Maki”, scene photos of various actions in which the swords take on unprecedented enemies have arrived.

Since its launch in January 2015, “Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-“, a sword training simulation game in which famous swordsmen transform into warriors and fight to protect history, has gained a large following, especially among women, and is one of the reasons for the sword boom that has spread across the country. The game has also contributed to the sword boom that has swept the nation.

“Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru” is based on “Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-“, which is the first animated series and the first season of the TV series aired in 2016, followed by the second season in 2018. The series gained popularity for its depiction of the swordsmen’s earnest and carefree daily lives in a “inner citadel.” The talented staff who have created the world of “Hanamaru” have reunited for the latest production of “Special ‘Touken Ranbu Hanamaru’ -Setsugetsuka-“.

The recently released scene photos capture the action scenes of the sword fighters, and while there is a depiction of the heartwarming everyday life that is typical of “Hanamaru,” “Hana no Maki” also features a wide variety of action scenes.” The “inner citadel” swordsmiths are shown for the first time in this episode, and viewers can enjoy their appearance for the first time.

Maeda Toshiro and Hirano Toshiro battle the enemy on an expedition, while Mikazuki Munechika, left behind in the Warring States Period, confronts the enemy despite his injuries. We also get to see the first battle scenes of Shokudaikiri Mitsutada and Heshikiri Hasebe in their full armor, as well as the “serious special kill” scene of Kashuu Kiyomitsu and his partner Yamatonokami Yasusada, who went into the dream world to open the hearts of a Saniwa sage and wake him up. The two swordsmen fighting for the Saniwa sage in the unknown world are a must-see.

Will the swordsmen be able to safely awaken the Saniwa sage and protect their precious “Honmaru”? We look forward to seeing the swordsmen in action in the final “Hana no Maki”.

Act III “Hana no Maki” of “Special ‘Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru’ -Setsugetsuka-” will be in theaters nationwide from September 1, 2022.
