“EVA2020 × final Wireless Earphone Type-REI”, a collaboration between “Evangelion” and Japanese audio manufacturer final, has been available from August 1, 2022.
The “Evangelion” series began in 1995 with the broadcast of the TV anime series “Neon Genesis Evangelion” and has since developed into a social phenomenon through manga, movies, games, and various other media.
In 2007, the animated film series “Rebuild of Evangelion” was launched. In 2021, following “: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone”, “: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance”, and “: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo”, the final film, “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time,” was released and became the biggest hit of the series, grossing 10.28 billion yen at the box office.
“EVA2020 × final Wireless Earphone Type-REI” is a new color model of “EVA2020 × final Wireless Earphone,” a collaboration earphone by final and “Evangelion”. The original design was newly made and developed for this model, and gives a sense of each Evangelion unit. “Type-REI,” which is inspired by the color of Ayanami Rei’s plug suit, has a white base color and light blue, the color of Ayanami Rei’s hair, as a subtle coloring.
Each of the four previous models included the original voice of operator Ibuki Maya (CV: Nagasawa Miki) and battle commander Katsuragi Misato (CV: Mitsuishi Kotono), but “Type-REI” includes a newly recorded announcement by Unit-00 pilot Ayanami Rei (CV: Hayashibara Megumi).
The “Type-REI” also features a completely original package design based on the waveform that represents the synchronization rate in the film, as well as the earphones themselves. We hope you will enjoy the finished product, where you can feel the world view of “Evangelion” everywhere you look.
“EVA2020 × final Wireless Earphone Type-REI” is priced at 19,800 JPY including tax. It will be available as a limited-quantity model from August 1, 2022 at all “EVANGELION STOREs”, official Evangelion stores nationwide, “final STOREs”, directly managed “final” stores, the “final” official online store, and the “final official store” on Amazon, from August 1, 2022.
