As part of the 100 volumes project of “Detective Conan” (Volume 100 to be released on October 18, 2021), the official spin-offs, “Detective Conan: Zero’s Tea Time” and “Detective Conan: Hanzawa the Criminal” have gotten an anime adaptation. The teaser visual and teaser PV were revealed together with the comments of the original authors, including Aoyama Gosho.

The anime adaptation that was announced is on the official spin-offs of “Detective Conan”, which are “Detective Conan: Zero’s Tea Time” and “Detective Conan: Hanzawa the Criminal” that are currently being serialized on Shogakukan’s “Weekly Shounen Sunday” and “Shounen Sunday S” respectively. Along with the announcement on the TV adaptation of “Detective Conan: Police Academy Arc”, a total of 3 spin-offs of “Detective Conan” have gotten an anime adaptation.

“Detective Conan: Zero’s Tea Time” is the official spin-off that is depicted by Arai Takahiro and completely supervised by the original author of “Detective Conan” Aoyama Gosho, and it features Amuro Tooru as the main lead. The story is about the daily life of the triple face Amuro Tooru, who is affiliated to the National Police Agency Security Bureau Security Planning, Detective, and Black Organization, which remains unknown to everyone.

“Detective Conan: Hanzawa the Criminal” is the criminal comedy spin-off by Aoyama Gosho and Kanba Mayuko that depicts the black-silhouetted “criminal” that can be seen in “Detective Conan”.

The teaser visual has a contrast visual as it depicts the retreating figure of “Hanzawa-san” standing in a daunting pose in front of the ticket gate of Beika station, which is famous as the area with many crimes, and the retreating figure of “Amuro Tooru” in a suit in front of his beloved car RX-7. This design will surely make you look forward to the drama that will be developed.

Do look forward to the future announcements for further details.

The latest volume of “Detective Conan: Zero’s Tea Time” (volume 5), “Detective Conan: Hanzawa the Criminal” (volume 6), and “Detective Conan” (volume 100) will be released together on October 18, 2021.

Aoyama Gosho’s Comments

Hello, I’m Aoyama!
I can’t believe that “Zero’s Tea Time” and “Hanzawa the Criminal” that was born from “Detective Conan” will get an anime adaptation… (haha)
“Zero’s Tea Time” is about the vacation for a time of Amuro while “Hanzawa the Criminal” is a story that you can enjoy the daily life of the black-silhouetted “criminal” (haha)!
I am looking forward to the anime broadcast as well♪

Author of “Detective Conan: Zero’s Tea Time”, Arai Takahiro’s Comments

Congratulation to the double anime adaptation of “Hanzawa the Criminal” and “Zero’s Tea Time”!
As this manga is a spin-off short work that only has 10 pages per chapter, I was quite surprised it managed to overcome the various obstacles to get an anime, and I was also delighted.
I am looking forward to the broadcast while being excited about the composition and performance of an anime and the “sound” that can’t be expressed in the manga!

Author of “Detective Conan: Hanzawa the Criminal”, Kanba Mayuko’s Comments

Thank you very much! The achievement of the mysterious shadow, the criminal… Despite it is a crime for murder, but they are still… living in that dreadful rouge’s den!
I hope you can enjoy the adventure at Beika City with Hanazawa-san as if you are riding an attraction in Conan Land.
