The TV anime “Akebi’s Sailor Uniform” will start broadcasting on January 2022. Key visual and first trailer were released. The main cast features Murakami Manatsu as Akebi Komichi, Amamiya Sora as Kizaki Erika, Kito Akari as Usagihara Toko, and Wakayama Shion as Kojo Tomono. Commentaries from the voice actresses were also revealed.

“Akebi’s Sailor Uniform” is originally a coming to age manga first serialized on the “Tonari no Young Jump” magazine. The story takes place at the prestigious all-girls countryside middle school Roubai Academy, and centers around the student lives of young girl Akebi Komichi, whose “dream” has always been to wear the school’s uniform, and her classmates.

This first key visual was illustrated by the character designer and supervising animation director Kono Megumi. The image shows Komichi proudly wearing the sailor uniform during spring in front of Roubai Academy, the school she longed for joining. Among the falling cherry blossom petals, it’s a gorgeous scene foreboding the beginning of her school life.

In the first trailer, Komichi is seen running filled with expectations towards the scene shown in the key visual as Utatane Kana’s beautiful tune plays in the background.

In addition, the announced main cast features Murakami Manatsu voicing the protagonist Akemi Komichi for her first ever TV anime role. Amamiya Sora voices the first classmate Komichi befriends with, Kizaki Erika, while Kito Akari voices Sagihara Toko, and Wakayama Shion voices Kojo Tomono.

TV anime “Akebi’s Sailor Uniform” will premiere on January 2022.

[Akebi Komichi: Murakami Manatsu]

I am Murakami Manatsu, and I will be voicing Akebmi Komichi!
I was captivated by this manga from the time I read this heart warming story with such lovely and delicate characters.
I really adore Akebi’s gentle development at the Roubai Academy.
I am very happy to be involved in such a wonderful title. The character I play, Akebi Komichi, is an innocent and honest 1st year middle school student!
She really is a girl with the ability of instantly making everything around her brighter.
I will do my very best to convey the same glamour of the story and Akebi in the anime adaptation!

[Kizaki Erika: Amamiya Sora]

When I first read “Akebi’s Sailor Uniform” I was impressed.
You can see that every single expression from single character was drawn carefully, almost like a picture book, even though it’s a manga.
Before going to the audition I practiced recording myself and revising it while picturing in my head what kind of girl Kizaki Erika is, what kind of voice she’d have.
We are proceeding with the voice recording through hardships and fun times, so look forward to it!
I am too looking forward to watching the shining gentle daily life of Akebi and her friends on the anime.

[Usagihara Toko: Kito Akari]

This is Kito Akari, in the role of Usagihara Toko.
I have always been a huge fan of Akebi’s Sailor Uniform, so I am really happy to be involved in the anime as Toko’s voice!
I will do my best to portray Toko as the cheerful mood maker she is just like in the manga, so I will be pleased if the fans do look forward tofor the anime release!

I’m in the role of Kojo Tomono, my name is Wakayama Shion.
“Akebi’s Sailor Uniform”, as everyone knows, is a story about the bustling daily lives of exceptional girls, centered around Komichi. When I first found out that I was going to be playing Toko I got really anxious and thought to myself “Can I really join this wonderful cast?!”. However through the frequent support of the people around me was able to change my mindset, and now I am always thinking “I want to talk to everyone more!”.
