The special footage featuring Miyano Mamoru, the voice of Hitokawa Muitarou & Gutto Koraemaru from “Belle The Dragon and the Freckled Princess” (Release date: July 16, 2021), reciting the original novel written by director Hosoda Mamoru has been released. The novel was released in June 15.
This is the latest work of director Hosoda Mamoru, known for “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time”, “Summer Wars”, and “Mirai”.
After losing her mother at a young age, the 17 year old girl, Suzu, who is living together with her father in the countryside of Kouchi, participates in the humongous internet virtual world, “U” as the diva “Belle”. The story unfolds when she encounters the dragon…
The special footage will feature Miyano Mamoru reciting the prologue of the original novel of “Belle The Dragon and the Freckled Princess”. Let’s hear the prologue of director Hosoda’s unique realism and fantasy world in the charming voice.
Also, it was announced that Miyano will be voicing the 2 YouTuber, Hitokawa Muitarou & Gutto Koraemaru, who are hyping up the “Searching for the dragon true identity”. The character design is a cooperative work by Okazaki Takashi and Okazaki Mina, who handled the design for the OZ ‘s characters “King Kazma” and “Kari-Kenji” in “Summer Wars”. The comments from Miyano Mamoru on the recital have been released.
“Belle The Dragon and the Freckled Princess” will be released in nationwide Japan theatres, on July 16, 2021. The original novel is currently available on nationwide Japan bookstore.

It makes me excited that I am able to feel the vast world setting of director Hosoda from the prologue.
For this recital, I’ve done it while expressing the loneliness of the main protagonist, Suzu in my own way.
