For which game would you like to see an anime adaptation? (Video game console section) 2nd place went to “Animal Crossing: New Horizons”, and the new title released in 2021 topped the list!

In 2021, various anime based on games have been broadcast such as “Uma Musume Pretty Derby Season2” and “The World Ends with You: The Animation”.
I’m sure that many of the readers of Anime! Anime! have favorite games anime adaptations of which they would like to see.

Here at Anime! Anime!, we conducted the same survey as in the second half of 2020, “For which game would you like to see an anime adaptation? (first half of 2021).”
The survey targeted at the games that are yet to be made into anime, and divided them into two sections, which are the game app section and video game console (home video game) section. We received responses from 1,175 people during the survey period from June 4 to June 13.
The ratio of males to females was about 15% and 85%, with the majority of females. The age group was mainly young, with about 30% of respondents aged 19 or younger and about 45% in their 20s.

In this article, we will present the results of the video game console section.

■New titles and popular series were in a tight vote!
1st place
1st place went to “Buddy Mission BOND”. The support rating was about 9%, and the game released in January 2021 topped the list.

This is an adventure game released in January. 4 characters attempt to reveal the truth about a mysterious organization in cooperation.
The readers are likely to be attracted by its detailed story plot and their close relationship, and commented, “The story depicts the bonds between the characters in different but fairly careful ways. That is memorable”, “I am enticed by the plot that gets deeper by episode and the characters’ relationships. The story develops at a fast pace like a roller coaster, and I was caught in a storm of surprise and scream. I couldn’t help crying……”, and “The game contains performances like moving comics, so I just want to see its animated video”.

2nd place
2nd place went to “Animal Crossing: New Horizons”. The support rating was about 5%, and it remained the same rank as last time.

This is the latest title of the “Animal Crossing” series.
The comments show its power as a blockbuster series, “I want to see my favorite character moving in anime. It would be a calming title, and I am sure that the seasonal events are perfect for anime”, “I like theatrical anime of the past titles. There are many new characters, so I would like to see new anime!”, and “I want to see a slow life in an island featured in anime. 5-minute anime would be perfect, right?”.

3rd place
3rd place went to “Fire Emblem: Three Houses”. The support rating was about 4%. Even though it moved down from the top last time, it still remains a high position.

The comments received were, “It features such a magnificent story that both story and characters stand out. Many route branches would be difficult to be made into a video, but I still want to see anime adaptation!”, “The route for the main character could be OVA, the one with quizzes could be TV anime so that we can take time, and another route with the strongest end boss could be theatrical……” Some readers considered the route branch to be an important point.

“Games by Electronic Arts are based on solid stories, which would be enjoyable in anime.”
“The story of each character is wonderful.”

“Monster Hunter”
“I am playing the latest ‘Monster Hunter Rise’ with my friends, and we are having fun for the first time in a while! I want to see beating scenes drawn in excellent illustrations.”
“Hunting scenes would be spectacular.”
The title, whose live-action movie was released, got votes.

In the game console section, the ranking has changed from last year. Both newly released titles of 2021 and the latest version from popular series got positions.
