In 2021, various anime based on games were broadcast and streamed, including “Uma Musume Pretty Derby Season 2” and “The World Ends with You The Animation”.
I’m sure that many of the readers of Anime! Anime! have favorite games that they would like to see made into anime.

Here at Anime! Anime!, we asked the same question as in the second half of 2020, “Which game would you like to see made into an anime? (first half of 2021).”
The survey targeted at the games that are yet to be made into anime, and divided them into two sections, which are the game app section and console game(home video game) section. We received responses from 1,175 people during the survey period from June 4 to June 13.
The ratio of males to females was about 15% and 85%, with the majority of females. The age group was mainly young, with about 30% of respondents aged 19 or younger and about 45% in their 20s.

In this article, we will present the results of the game app section.

■The most popular titles ranked in the 1st and 2nd!
1st place
The 1st place went to “Dream!ing”. With a 38 percent approval rating, and it has been at the top for four consecutive quarters since the second half of 2019.

The story is set at Shinonome Academy, where talented students from all over Japan gather. It’s a story about a student who aims to be the top of the class at the school by performing “Dream Live,” which exposes his heart.
There are some hot comments we received: “Although the app service has been closed, the richness of the story, the range of the cast’s performances, and the heavy BGM… there are many elements that make it suitable for anime,” “It depicts the depths of humanity, the wonderful and the unpleasant, without hiding it, and has a wonderful story that will change our lives in some way,” and “The story is set in an outlandish setting, but it depicts the troubles of life-sized high school boys and their struggle against them from various perspectives. It accepts diversity, which is also a wonderful point. The balance between comical and serious, and the story’s rapid pace are also exquisite.”

2nd place
2nd place went to “World End Heroes”. With an approval rating of about 22 percent, it has been in 2nd place for three consecutive quarters since the first half of 2020.

This is an RPG about a group of boys who fight against the Eater. Although the service ended, the series “Bucket Communication” has started on Animedia and is still gaining momentum.

There are some comments about how the story of heroes unfolds: “Each of the 15 heroes has a unique weapon, and I think the flashy battle scenes will look great in the anime. The story is complete, and I think it’s suitable for an anime,” “It was outstandingly interesting as a high school transforming hero story, and I was moved to laughter and tears,” and “It’s amazing that the number of fans is still increasing almost a year after the service ended! I hope they will use the momentum of the magazine serialization to make it into an anime.”

3rd place
3rd place went to “Disney: Twisted-Wonderland”. With an approval rating of about 8 percent, it moved up from 5th place last time.

It is a school adventure game with many students who have the souls of Disney’s Villains and we received various comments: “I started this game because of the story, and when I saw them moving in the commercials, I wished it would become an anime,” “The character designs and school atmosphere are wonderful. It would be interesting to do an original story about their daily life!” and “I’d like to see the comicalized version made into an anime. ”

■Here are some other comments!!
For “The Wizard’s Promise,” some say, “The fantasy world view will definitely look great in anime” and “The anime commercial for the first anniversary of the release was great, so I wanted to see it in a whole season.”

For “Genshin Impact,” some say, The dense storyline, the individuality of each character, the flashy battles and staging, the thrilling storyline… there’s no end to the reasons why, but I hope this anime will be a chance for people who haven’t played the game to get into ‘Genshin Impact’”!

For “Arknights,” some say, “Many anime PVs have been released, so I’d be happy if it were animated with those beautiful images” and “I want to enjoy that profound and cruel world in anime.”

In the game app section, there were votes for titles that are no longer in service, which confirms that there are many fans who want to see the characters in different media.
