The first original goods for the “‘Animage and Ghibli Exhibition’: Ghibli Began with a Single Magazine”, which will be held at Matsuya Ginza in Tokyo from April 15, 2021, have been revealed. The line-up includes a tapestry designed by “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind” and a plush toy of “blue” Teto.
“‘Animage and Ghibli Exhibition’: Ghibli Began with a Single Magazine” is an exhibition that looks back at the origins of Studio Ghibli by focusing on the “editorial” side of Suzuki Toshio, the producer of Studio Ghibli who has been involved in numerous hit works.
During the exhibition, about 150 original exhibition items will be available such as a plush toy that recreates the “blue” Teto from the November 1983 issue of Animage, a tapestry with the opening design of the movie “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind,” items with the design of the castle of Laputa surrounded by the strange and beautiful rotting sea plants and greenery, and items that express iconic scenes from the film by silhouettes.
“‘Animage and Ghibli Exhibition’: Ghibli Began with a Single Magazine” will be held at Event Square on the 8th floor of Matsuya Ginza from April 15 to May 5. After that, the exhibition will tour around Japan, including Ishinomaki, Miyagi.
