Titled “Studio Ghibli Zensakuhin Shuu (Complete Work Collection)”, a new book containing all 26 Studio Ghibli animation titles from “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind” to “Earwig and the Witch” will be released by Kodansha. Pre-orders are already available at “Rakuten Books”.

Studio Ghibli is behind many of the hugely popular hits starting with the release of “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind” in 1984, followed by “Castle in the Sky”, “My Neighbor Totoro”, “Grave of Fireflies”, “Kiki’s Delivery Service”, “Mononoke Princess”, “Spirited Away”, and many others.

Not a single Ghibli film was left out of this book. It contains thorough explanations about each title from the plots, character profiles, behind the scene secrets, and images of promotional theater posters and newspaper ads.
Columns about the quintessential music of Ghibli movies, and public statements from the directors during the premieres, are also included.

The opening pages feature a special 8-page article about the studio’s latest tile, “Earwig and the Witch”, which was broadcast on Dec. 30, 2020 on the NHK TV Channel, and will hit the theaters on Apr. 29, 2021. The article not only features the story and characters, but also contains explanations of the process of creating the scenes of the movie in 3D computer graphics, and an interview with director Miyazaki Goro, who opens up about secrets of the production.

General manager and producer Suzuki Toshio also discusses about Ghibli Studio’s future plans in a recent interview in the book. In addition, the short film “On Your Mark” has also been included. It was created as a promotional film for the song of same name by the group CHAGE & ASUKA, and premiered alongside “Whisper of the Heart”.

“Studio Ghibli Zensakuhin Shuu” is priced at 3,080JPY (tax included). Pre-ordering is available on “Amazon” and “Rakuten Books”, and the release is slated for Apr. 21, 2021.
