An adaption of “Gambling Apocalypse: Kaiji”, from the “Kaiji” series by Fukumoto Nobuyukiwhich has been serialized in “Young Magazine”, has been decided, . It will be performed in Kyoto and Tokyo in Dec 2020.
“Gambling Apocalypse: Kaiji” hasd been serialized in “Young Magazine” (Kodansha) until 1999. Currently, the latest Kaiji series (“Gambling Outcast: Kaiji – 2.4 Billion Escape Arc”) has been serialized, and it is a popular work with a cumulative total of over 21 million copies. In Oct 2007, it was made into a TV anime entitled “The Suffering Pariah Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor”, and in 2009 the movie series started.
The main character of this work, Ito Kaiji, will be Yamazaki Taiki, who performed on the stage in: “Uchu Sentai Kyuranger” and “Ensemble Stars! Extra Stage”.
Besides him, it was announced that Kujirai Kosuke as Funai Joji, and Baba Ryouma as Kitami will be the cast members for reproducing a unique worldview of the work.
For the stage, the story is sticking to the original. The production team includes staff members: the script writer Mashiba Azuki from “Caramel Box”, the script supervisor Narui Yutaka, and the director Yamazaki Akira from a theater troupe “Bad Play”.
” ‘Stage’ Gambling Apocalypse: Kaiji” will be performed in Kyoto and Tokyo in Dec 2020.
