The 2nd special announcement for “Violet Evergarden the Movie” (roadshow on Apr. 24, 2020) has been released. In addition, the message from “Violet Evergarden”‘s series producer Hatta Shinichiro to the fans around the world, arrived.

“Violet Evergarden” is originally a novel with the same name published by “KA Esuma Bunko” of Kyoto Animation. The novel contains several humanity stories which depict a little girl who was used to be a soldier, but now lives by writing letters for someone else called Violet Evergarden

TV series had been broadcast from Jan. 2018 to Apr. 2018, and the movie of the series called “Violet Evergarden the Side Story: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll” was released. Finally, the new movie with a completely new story called “Violet Evergarden the Movie” will be released on Apr. 2020.

Prior to the release, “the movie ticket with ‘morning’ B2 poster (numbers are limited)”, which was designed by the character designer Takase Akiko, are on sale from Feb. 14, 2020.

The Official Interview of Hatta Shinichirou, the producer of “Violet Evergarden” series

—Were you expecting the production of “Violet Evergarden the Movie” since the start of the anime?

I was not thinking of it when I started the anime, but I believe TV series described the lifestyle of Violet Evergarden, and I thought describing her future is the climax of the series, so I tried my best to write the scenario for “the Movie”, by including stories from the anime.

—I believe that there are people who learn about the world of “Violet Evergarden” from the movie. Can they enjoy the movie as well?

I think they can enjoy the series just by watching “the Movie”.
Violet Evergarden’s life at work, her emotions, and her relationships with others are carefully described in the movie, so it is easy to learn about the series as in TV series.

If you got interested in her lifestyle after watching the movie, I recommend to watch TV series or read the novel, and if you watch the movie after that, you will have a more deep knowledge about the story, and becomes even enjoyable.

—Which are the highlights of the story in “the Movie”?

Violet in TV series is often the narrator of the story, and she often wrote for people she meets throughout the story.
On the other hand, in “the Movie”, the story focuses on the lifestyle of Violet Evergarden itself, becoming so the main attraction.

—It is appealing also as “the story that depicts love”.

I agree. Violet could not understand emotions because she was raised as the “weapon”, and she looked for the meaning of “I love you” which she received from Gilbert because she didn’t understand it.

She became partly to understand the meaning of “I love you”, but “the Movie” is based on the phrase “I love you”.
How will Violet experience “I love you”? Please look forward to it.

—Lastly, may I have the message from you to all the fans around the world who are waiting for the movie?

“Violet Evergarden the Movie” is the finale of the series, which began as TV anime.
The staffcreated it with full affection and hard work, and director Ishidate and the script writer Yoshida Reiko both worked to the best of their abilities. I would be happy if everyone watched over lady Violet.
I would like to share the feelings with the fans who had watched the series, and I hope to make use of them in the future. Thank you.
