Jan. 24 is “Gold's Day”.

The origin is because gold nuggets were discovered in California, USA on Jan. 24, 1848 which started the gold rush that attracted a lot of miners to California.

The beautiful and shiny gold color is a color that stands out on a glance. There were various characters that have blonde hair, extremely rich or fit the “gold” image in anime. Among all those characters, which character had captured most of the hearts of fans?

Thus, in Anime! Anime!, we have conducted a reader survey on “Which anime character reminds you of the color gold?”. We have received a total of 146 responses from Jan. 13 until Jan. 20, 2020.
The male-to-female ratio was 45% male and 55% female where the female was the majority. The age distribution is 45% for ages 19 and below and 25% for those in theirs 20's, focusing the survey on youngsters.

■The Tops is Sakata Kintoki from “Gintama”. The giant robot also ranked in
The 1st place is Sakata Kintoki from “Gintama” with the support rating of approximately 20%.

Sakata Kintoki is a much more charismatic character in various ways than the protagonist Sakata Gintoki. We had received comments such as “Kin-san is the only character that I can think of with the gold image! His straight gold hair is so cool!”, and “His hair and name as well as his wooden sword, Kinkakuji also contained the word gold “.
“It's because the anime name changed from “Gintama” to “Kintama” during the Kintama Arc” which depicted there was a huge impact when even the title changed to gold. This character from the popular series, where the production of the 3rd movie was confirmed, had shined brightly as the top.

2nd place is Gilgamesh from “Fate” Series with support rating of
approximately 15%.

Gilgamesh is a major hero in ancient Mesopotamian mythology and had an arrogant personality. These comments, “It's because his hair, armor and even his treasure are all gold color” and “This is the character when we talk about gold” depicts that he has a strong gold image. There was also votes received because he was called “Gilded Splendor” by the other characters in the work.

3rd place is Quattro Bajeena from “Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam” with support rating of approximately 10%.
Captain Quattro of the Anti Earth Union Group (AEUG) is the pilot of the golden mobile suit, Hyaku Shiki. We had received comments such as “It's so cool that Quattro fought against all the savage pilots in the golden Hyaku Shiki, that reflects so much light in space!” and “It's because his mobile suit is gold and his hair is also gold”.

■Let's introduce the other commentary
Regrading Gild Tesoro from “One Piece”: “It's because he ate Gold Gold Fruit (an ability to control gold).”

Regarding Fitzgerald from “Bungo Stray Dogs”: “It's because he possess the ability to strengthen his body by using money.”

Regarding Cagalli Yula Athha from “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED”: It's because her semi-long blonde hair looks nice. The Akatsuki which she piloted near the end of “DESTINY” had the full Gold coloring body that was quite an impactful”
Regarding Goldron from “The Brave of Gold Goldran”: “I still remembered this Brave series that I watched when I was young. Despite Gundam have the golden mobile suits such as Hyaku Shiki and Akatsuki but, it has to be Goldran when we talk about gold.” where even a robot had received a votes.
