The event “Godzilla ni Kakeru Tokusatsu no Mirai: The future of special effects on Godzilla” will be held in collaboration with the original Godzilla work, “Godzilla” (released in 1954) and the traditional entertainment “Kodan” and “Rakugo.” It will be performed at OS Cinemas Kobe Harborland on Mar. 18, 2020.
In this event, Kodan and Rakugo based on the history and episodes of then-production will be performed before the screening of the original Godzilla work, “Godzilla” (released in 1954.).
It is a world’s first attempt, by 2 performers: Kodan storyteller Kyokudo Nanryu from Sohnokai and Rakugo storyteller Katsura Monshiro, to double act the hardships and ingenious ideas of those who challenged an unknown achievement called “Tokusatsu Kaiju movie” with fiction arranged.
The content has some life sceneries of the 30s in the Showa era, so you can watch the movie “Godzilla” while thinking back to those times after listening to kodan and rakugo.
