The worldwide box office of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train” reached ¥51.7 billion with worldwide ticket sales at about 41.35 million.
“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” is based on a same-titled comic written by Gotouge Koyoharu, which was serialized in ‘Weekly Shonen Jump’, and its 1-23 having over 150 million copies in circulation. The TV anime series was broadcast from April 2019, and earned worldwide acclaim.
“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train” was released on October 16, 2020, in Japan. Following that, “Demon Slayer” has been gaining in popularity all over the world, and has been released in 45 countries and regions, which led to worldwide ticket sales at about 41.35 million and a worldwide box office of ¥51.7 billion.
In Japan, it grossed 28,966,806 in ticket sales and ¥40,016,942,050 box office. In the U.S., the IMAX and 4DS formats of the film have been released at about 1,600 theaters, the film earned US$ 43,956,487 (approx. ¥4.78 billion) with about 3.51 million tickets sold as of May 21.
The film is scheduled to be released in the U.K., Ireland, Netherlands, and Turkey, and the world focuses its attention on how the film is beating the record.
