The CG animation for “Star Wars: Resistance”, which was handled by Polygon Pictures Co. Ltd. , was nominated for best in U.S. prime time television programming awards called “Primetime Emmy Awards” for two consecutive years.
“Star Wars: Resistance” takes place before the events of the movie “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, and it shows the setting of “Star Wars” through the “aerial's race and aerial battle”, which is a new type of TV series despite it being an official history in the work.
To Polygon Picture, “Star Wars: Resistance” is the sequel to the full 3DCG TV series “Star Wars: Clone Wars” and is the latest TV series for “Star Wars” in which they handled the animation.
In the “45th Saturn Award”, it has won the “Best Animated Series on Television”, and it was also nominated in the “71st Primetime Emmy Awards” under “Outstanding Children's Program”, making it to be nominated for two consecutive years.
Up until now, animation works produced by Polygon Pictures has won a total of 5 awards in “Daytime Emmy Awards”, and also “International Emmy Awards” in the main category”. This is their second nomination in the “Primetime Emmy Awards”.
Regarding the futures, Polygon Pictures commented, “We want to deliver a tremendously high-quality work that is not done by others to the world” as their mission and putting efforts in developing Japan's proud animation business to the world.
