Director Araki Tetsurou and character designer Mikimoto Haruhiko will share the stage on a special movie screening event at Shinjuku Piccadilly celebrating the release of Blu-ray and DVD versions of the movie "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato" on Dec. 10, 2019.
The movie is a continuation of the story from the original anime series "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress" that aired from April to June, 2016.
The plot unfolds amidst the industrial revolution, the dawn of a new era, when immortal creatures, Kabane, mysteriously emerges. In the far east, departing from the island of Hinomoto, protagonist Ikoma embarked on Iron Fortress, a heavily armored steam locomotive(Hayajiro) and finally arrives at Unato Station after facing a fierce battle. Ikoma now joins the alliance alongside Kuroji, Mogari, and the nation from Unato to fight against the Kabane in the next battleground, however, things don't go exactly as planned….
"Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato" Blu-ray and DVD are available from Dec. 11. The Blu-ray is priced at 10,000JPY (taxes excluded), and the DVD at 8,000JPY (taxes excluded). The special event celebrating the DVD & Blu-ray release will take place at Shinjuku Piccadilly on Dec. 10. Movie screening starts at 19:00. The talk event itself will start from 8:20pm – 8:45pm.
