“The Dangers in My Heart,” a comic that sold more than 2.3 million copies, will get a TV anime adaptation in 2023. The official website has released the teaser illustration (phase 1.) In addition, Sakurai Norio, the author of the comic, has delivered a comment and illustration celebrating the anime adaptation.
“The Dangers in My Heart” is a coming-of-age rom-com by Sakurai Norio serialized in “MANGA CROSS”. It depicts the daily life of Ichikawa, an introvert and asocial boy, and Yamada, a beloved natural airhead despite her attractive appearance. This comic has been placed on the list of “Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga is Amazing!)” Men Section for two consecutive years. It was also ranked No. 1 in the Web manga category of the “NEXT MANGA AWARDS 2020.” The story is currently attracting a lot of attention, mainly on social networking services, as to whether a miracle will happen in the relationship between Yamada and Ichikawa, who have completely different personalities.
Commenting on the long-awaited TV anime adaptation, the author Sakura Norio said, “I have deliberately and carefully depicted the changes of the relationship between the two and their feelings like a soft gradation. Therefore, I am delighted at the visualization that allows me to express them more delicately with music, movement and color.”
The commemorative illustration shows a sweet situation: smiling Yamada looking at the camera and making a V sign with both hands, and Ichikawa, who is too embarrassed to make the V sign, wearing a sash with the words “TV Anime Adaptation!” The illustration also depicts Kobayashi, Sekine, Yoshida, and the classmates of Yamada and Ichikawa, making it a gathering of 12 characters.
The teaser illustration of the anime depicts Yamada happily eating ice cream in a bicycle parking. Unlike a typical anime illustration, it is drawn in black and white, and the “Phase 1” in the title suggests that there will be more to come.
The TV anime has also opened an official teaser website and a Twitter account. Stay tuned for more updates!

Many of you, including myself, may have been looking forward to it.
I have deliberately and carefully depicted the changes in the relationship between the two and their feelings like a soft gradation. Therefore, I am delighted at the visualization that allows me to express them more delicately with music, movement and color.
Thank you so much for your continuous support.
Let’s grin and relentlessly wait together until the broadcast.
