September has finally come. You may be curious about the titles currently on air, however, it’s also important to check out the upcoming TV anime series in fall.
The upcoming titles in fall 2021 include a variety of titles, from sequels to popular series to notable original titles. Among such titles, which one is the most expected title by the Anime!Anime! readers?
Therefore, Anime!Anime! conducted a reader survey titled “Which anime do you have the highest expectations for in fall 2021?”. During the survey period from September 1 – 8, a total of 2,132 responses were received. For the gender ratio, the females were the majority with about 75% while the males were about 25%. For the age distribution, we received the majority of responses from the young readers: about 30% were from teens, and 45% were from those in their 20s.
■”The Vampire Dies in No Time” has won nearly half of the votes!
1st Place
1st place went to “The Vampire Dies in No Time”. The support rating was about 47%.
This is based on a comic that is currently serialized in “Weekly Shonen Champion”, depicting a gag story where the least powerful vampire Dralc and a vampire hunter Ronald live together in Shinyokohama.
Many comments have arrived from the fans of the original comic, including “High-speed gags in the original comic are hilarious, so I am very excited to see them in anime with movement. Also, gorgeous cast members are featured including Fukuyama Jun-san as Dralc and Furukawa Makoto-san as Ronald. My expectations max out!” and “You will definitely be healed by hilarious gags by the incompatible duo of a vampire and a vampire hunter, and cuteness of an armadillo as a familiar of Draluc”.
The PV that is currently showing raises the fans’ expectations as well, and the received comments include; “From the PV, I can tell how the vibes of the original comic are valued” and “Fake preview was inserted in the 1st teaser PV. They know us!”. To commemorate the anime adaptation, a popularity poll was taken in a unique style; “You can vote for the characters as many times as you want”. This title topped the list with the support rating that no other title can even touch.
2nd Place
2nd place went to “World Trigger” (3rd Season). The support rating was about 11%.
This is an action comic that is currently serialized in “Jump Square”. The TV anime series started broadcasting in 2014. The 3rd season is a sequel to 2nd season that had been on air from January to April 2021.
Many fans are looking forward to the battling scenes, saying “The second half of the B-Rank Battles will finally be broadcast…!! The battles where tactics and knowledge make a big difference are super interesting”, “Not only actions but also mind games are attractive in battles”, and “The quality of 2nd season was great, so I have high expectations for 3rd season as well. In terms of the story development, super exciting scenes seem to be approaching……”.
3rd Place
3rd place went to “Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation” (2nd Cour). The support rating was about 6%.
This is based on a fantasy novel from “Shosetsuka ni Naro”. The story follows a protagonist Rudeus, who was reincarnated in a world of sword and sorcery. The 2nd cour is a sequel to the 1st cour broadcast from January to March 2021.
Many fans seem to be surprised by the quality of 1st cour, saying “The image of 1st cour was so beautiful that I read the novel, and then I got hooked. I can’t wait to see how those scenes will be visualized!” and “1st cour was very funny considering its merely being the beginning, so I am very excited to see a powered-up sequel”. Some readers left comments like “I want it to keep the momentum, and become anime”.
Furthermore, considering the male readers only, 1st place went to “Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation”, 2nd place went to “World Trigger”, and 3rd place went to “The Vampire Dies in No Time”, while 1st place went to “The Vampire Dies in No Time”, 2nd place went to “World Trigger”, 3rd place went to “Blue Period”, considering the female readers only.

“The story follows a competitor who aims to get in Tokyo University of the Arts. The coloring in the original comic was so beautiful, and I am looking forward to how the scenes, where the characters are impressed by art, are depicted. It will be worth watching”.

“This is the latest title on Noitamina, and its key visual is impressive. I also have high expectations as 10th anniversary work of WIT STUDIO”.
“Lupin III Part 6”
“This year is the 50th anniversary of the anime adaptation, and the scriptwriters are super gorgeous.”
“I am excited to see Otsuka Akio-san as Jigen.”
“Visual Prison”
“I was drawn into the story setting of a visual-key unit and vampire. The music production is handled by Elements Garden led by Agematsu Noriyasu-san, and many of the cast members are good at singing.”

Compared to the past surveys about the readers’ expectations, this survey received by far the largest number of votes, which shows how excited the readers are.
