May 13 is ‘the day of cocktail’.

It was established since the first definition of a cocktail appeared in a weekly newspaper in the United States on May 13, 1806.

Cocktail, which has a wide range of variety, is popular among a lot of people. In anime and games, there are many characters who enjoy drinking. If you got a chance to have a drink with them, who would you choose?

Here at Anime!Anime!, we conducted the same reader survey as last year titled ‘Who would you like to have a drink with?’. During the survey period from April 28 to May 5, a total of 197 responses were received. For the gender ratio, the females were the majority with about 85% while the males were about 15%. For the age distribution, we received the majority of responses from readers of younger ages: about 50% were from minors, and 35% were in their twenties.

■Non-drinker characters were popular！
1st place
1st place went to Sakata Gintoki from “Gintama” which he was ranked 5th place last year. The support rating was about 14 %.

The comments received from readers include, ‘With Gin-san, I would be able to party like crazy although we would probably bother floor staff…’ and ‘I want to party with people in Kabuki-cho at Snack Otose or Snack Smile’. However, he is a bad drunk, so some readers are worried about that, saying ‘We would be able to have such a great talk that we would end up puking’.

2nd place
2nd place went to Nakahara Chuya from “Bungo Stray Dogs”. The support rating was about 8 %, and he moved down from the top last year.

He can’t drink much as the comment received shows including ‘He would bring me fine wine, but he has a low alcohol tolerance, so he would pass out easily. I want to take care of him!’, ‘He gets drunk easily even though he likes drinking, which is so cute’, and ‘He is a strong fighter, so I want to see him blind drunk as he cannot drink that much’.

He has ever collaborated with a brewing company to release an original product, and got a high position again.

3rd place
3rd place went to Matsuno Osomatsu from “Mr. Osomatsu” although he was tied for 5th place. The support rating was about 5 %.

He is a character who always seems to be drinking alcohol in the works as the comments received show including ‘He always enjoys drinking at Oden stand run by Chibita！’, and ‘I want to spend a night drinking and eating Oden with him’. “Mr. Osomatsu” has ever released its original alcoholic beverage as well.

‘I want to see her drinking heavily contrary to her pretty appearance.’
For Nikaido Yamato from “Idolish7”,
‘I want to have a drink with him even though he loves drinking and becomes annoying when he is drunk.’

For Kazama Soya from “World Trigger”,
‘I want to see him drunk and fighting against a mailbox, and giggling with the 21 squad members. He must be cute!’

For Izanami Hifumi from “Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle”,
‘He is a host, so he should be good at entertaining others! It would be fun to talk with him.’ Some readers voted for the character who also drinks as a job.

Top 3 characters are over 20 years old, which is a proper result for a survey related to alcohol. Surprisingly, some non-drinker characters were ranked, and our readers commented that they wanted to take care of such characters.
