Who do you want to become a classmate with? Third place went to Hinata Shoyo from “Haikyu!!”, and second place was Sakata Gintoki from “Gintama”! School-life anime ranked high!

A new school semester has started.

We believe may readers of Anime!Anime! are experiencing a new life at middle schools and high schools.

There are many characters in games and anime, who make you “ want to spent time at school together”. The reason varies from character to character because they are good at sports or studying, or they sometimes have special talents.

Here at Anime!Anime!, we conducted a survey titled, “Who do you want to become a classmate with?”, from April 4 to April 11, 2021. We received answers from 201 people, with males making up approximately 25%, while the female readers made up the majority with 75%. Minors made up approximately 70%, while 20’s made up approximately 20%.

■Anime set in schools ranked high!

1st Place
1st place went to Itadori Yuji from “Jujutsu Kaisen”. The support ranting was approximately 7%.
He was popular for being friendly, and comments related to him said, “Because Itadori is optimistic and nice to everyone, he will be the center of the entire class”, and “He is so energetic that just looking at him seems like fun”.
Other characters from “Jujutsu Kaisen”, including Kugisaki Nobara in 8th place, and Inumaki Toge in 16th, also appeared in the ranking. Many fans seemed to want to become the students of Jujutsu Academy that Yuji and others go to. A popular title with awaiting movie has ranked in.

2nd Place
2nd place went to Sakata Gintoki from “Gintama”. The support rating was approximately 6%. Many comments seem to expect exciting school life with him; “I want to eat sweets with Gin-san and do stupid stuff”, and “He can make the whole class laugh with his jokes”. One comment mentioned that “He played the role of a teacher in ‘Mr. Ginpachi of Class 3-Z’, so I want to take his class”.

3rd Place
3rd place was Hinata Koyo from “Haikyu!!”. The support rating was approximately 4%.

He seemed to charm the fans with his lively personality, and the comments related to it said, “I think my days will be fun if Hinata, who can become friends with anyone, is in my class”, and “He is energetic, lively, and can communicate with anyone. I want to play volleyball with friendly-Hinata!”. While many fans seemed to wish to play volley together in the club, but some fans “want to become a non-important character and cheer his club activities”.

Takagi-san from “Teasing Master Takagi-san”: “I want to experience Nishikata’s life, who is always being teased by Takagi-san”.
Chitanda Eru from “Hyouka”: “Since Eru is curious at all times, she will show me the world I have never seen. She will make passive-me be more active”.
Kamado Tanjirou from “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba”: “I want to spend school life with him because his life at ‘Kimetsu Academy’ looks fun”.
Miyamura Isumi from “Horimiya”: “I want to dive into the world of ‘Horimiya’”, and “I want to see his handsome face”.

Many characters experiencing school life ranked high in this ranking. Most of top 10 characters are minors. A total of 16 characters tied in the 16th place of overall ranking.
