April 13th is “Coffee Shop Day”.
It’s a commemoration of the opening of Japan’s first coffee shop, Kahisakan, on the same day in 1888.
A wide variety of coffee shops are also in anime. Some have famous staff who are loved by customers, some have delicious menus that will make your taste buds tingle, and some have a slightly different concept, all depicted in different ways. So, what exactly are the most popular coffee shops among anime fans?
That’s where Anime! Anime! conducted a reader survey titled “What are some of the coffee shops that appear in anime?” for the first time in two years. We received responses from 162 people during the survey period from March 30 to April 6.
The ratio of males to females was about 25% and 75% respectively, with more females. About 60% of the respondents were under the age of 19, and about 20 percent were in their 20s.
