April 14 is Orange Day.

Orange is known as a bride flower in Europe and the United States, and it was established as a day for married people and couples to confirm each other’s love along with Valentine’s Day on February 14 and White Day on March 14.

The bright shade of orange is a color that attracts views. There are many characters in anime and games whose image color is orange. Who is the most popular among them?

Here at Anime!Anime!, we conducted an annual reader survey entitled “Speaking about characters whose image color is orange, who comes to your mind first?” We received responses from 210 people during the survey period from March 31 to April 7.
The male-female ratio is about 25% for males and about 75% for females. About 55% of the age group were teens, and about 25% were in their 20s.

1st place
1st place goes to Hinata Shoyo from “Haikyu !!” with an approval rating of about 12%, topping the list for the second consecutive year.

Hinata Shoyo is a first-year student at the Karasuno High School volleyball club. Readers commented that the color orange matches his character, “An orange second uniform on an orange hair. His birthday is the summer solstice and his name is related to the sun, so he perfectly matches oranges like a sunset.”, and “The court he is aiming for is also orange, so he looks great with orange.”

Some readers were also impressed by the one-act play during the performance, “When he was wearing the second uniform, it was fun when others called him ‘full body mandarin’!”

2nd place
2nd place goes to Nami from “One Piece” with an approval rating of about 9%, up from 8th place last year.

Nami is a first mate at Straw Hat Pirates. Readers are fascinated by her hair color, “Her hair is orange and her favorite food is mandarins. Speaking about the orange color, she first comes up to mind.” The fact that she met Luffy in the town of Orange is another reason for the vote.

3rd place
3rd place goes to Izumi Mitsu from “Idolish7” with an approval rating of about 8%, down one place from last year.

Readers pointed out how orange matches his position in the unit Idolish7, “The bright and reliable brother-like man reminds me of a bright orange!”, and “I think Mitsuki’s bright and energetic personality shares those warm feelings of orange color.” He often wears orange costumes, which impressed fans.
