On April 16, 2021, “Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet” has been released.

This is the 24th film where Akai Hidekazu, and other Akai family members gather together.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the release was postponed for a year, so a lot of fans should have been waiting for its premiere.

As “Detective Conan” film series, the 1st film titled “Detective Conan: The Time Bombed Skyscraper” was released in April 1994. Following that, the new film has been released almost every year.
Among a total of 23 films, which is the most popular film of the Anime!Anime! readers?

So, here at Anime!Anime!, we conducted the reader survey titled ‘Which “Detective Conan” movie is your favorite?’, commemorating the release of “Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet”. During the survey period from March 27 to April 10, a total of 707 responses were received. For the gender ratio, the females were the majority with about 75% while the males were about 25%. For the age distribution, we received the majority of responses from the readers of younger ages: about 40% were from minors, and 30% were in their twenties.

*This survey targeted at a total of 23 of “Detective Conan” films, except for “Lupin the 3rd vs. Detective Conan: The Movie”, and “Detective Conan: The Scarlet Alibi”.

■”The Darkest Nightmare” got 1st place. All the popular characters appear!
1st place
1st place went to “Detective Conan: The Darkest Nightmare”. The support rating was about 18%.
“Detective Conan: The Darkest Nightmare” is the 20th title released in 2016, which also commemorates the 20th anniversary of “Detective Conan”.

Filled with fun story attracts a lot of fans, especially the final scene where Akai Hidekazu and Amuro Toru are car chasing: ‘It’s an all-star title where the characters from Black Organization, FBI, and Public Security Police appear.’ ‘The characters are so amazing that I think “Isn’t it too wonderful!?”. Each character demonstrates their strength, which is very interesting.’

Curaçao as a guest character is so popular: ‘I like the story that Curaçao from Black Organization encounters Detective Boys and she is changing her mind as she spends together with them.’ ‘The film made me realize that we can change inspired by a little thing.’

2nd place
2nd place went to the 7th title “Detective Conan: Crossroad in the Ancient Capital”. The support rating was about 11%.

“Detective Conan: Crossroad in the Ancient Capital” is the 7th title released in 2003 where Hattori Heiji, a high school detective, plays an active role. There is a scene where Shinichi, not Conan, appears, which also attracts a lot of fans: ‘This is an interesting mystery where Heiji, my favorite character, goes around Kyoto. I want to visit the location of scenes.’ ‘This is about relationships between Heiji and Kazuha, and Shinichi and Ran. It’s a typical style of Conan-mystery. The story is nicely balanced with some action scenes like bike chasing.’ ‘This is the first film where Shinichi appears.’

3rd place
3rd place went to the 6th title “Detective Conan: The Phantom of Baker Street”. The support rating was about 10%.
“The Phantom of Baker Street” is the 6th title released in 2002. The case takes place in the game set in London. The readers are surprised by its story and idea: ‘Sherlock Holmes, which Conan likes, is incorporated a lot, and it is interesting as a mystery. The friends are losing one by one, which is also exciting.’ ‘The idea of playing in a virtual space is very innovative for 2002. I like the mood in London in the late 1800s, and it is fun to challenge an unsolved case.’
Some reader comments about Conan struggling, saying ‘I saw Conan whining, which was impressive.’

As for the votes from the male readers only, “Captured in Her Eyes” and “Dimensional Sniper” tied for 1st place. “Countdown to Heaven” and “The Darkest Nightmare” tied for 3rd place. As for the votes from the female readers only, 1st place went to “The Darkest Nightmare”, 2nd place went to “Crossroad in the Ancient Capital”, and 3rd place went to “Zero the Enforcer”.

The 4th title “Captured in Her Eyes”
‘Conan is trying to protect Ran, who lost her memories, with his small body, which is truly moving.’
‘This is the best movie which depicts love of the two.’
5th title “Crossroad in the Ancient Capital”
‘Haibara Ai is playing an active role, representing the unity of Junior Detective League.’
‘All the members of Junior Detective League are cool!’

The 18th title “Dimensional Sniper”
‘Sera Masumi appear in the film series for the first time here.’
‘I love the Akai family, and I can tell how well Akai-san is taking care of Sera-chan.’
The 22th title “Zero the Enforcer”
‘Amuro san was so cool. Especially when I heard his line “My lover is this country!”, my heart was stolen.’

In this survey, “The Darkest Nightmare” topped the list. The reason is that various characters gather together, with Akai Hidekazu at the head of them.
Let’s look forward to their big tole in the latest title.
