Many of the summer 2020 anime titles have already experienced the broadcast of the first episode.
The number of anime had been decreased due to the spread of novel coronavirus, but we believe that there are fans who have already found their favorite anime.
Then, which is “the most popular” anime, which makes the fans think that they want to keep watching it?
Here at Anime!Anime! and “Chou! Animedia”, we conducted a survey asking, “What is your favorite anime from summer 2020 season?”. The survey was conducted from Jul. 17 to Jul. 24, and a total of 186 people answered the survey.
The female readers made up the majority of the vote by making up approximately 60%, while the male readers made up approximately 40%. For the age group, 19-year old or younger readers made up approximately 49%, while 20’s made up approximately 18%.
■The 1st place went to “Sword Art Online Alicization: War of Underworld” 2nd season. It is currently at the climax of the series.
1st Place
The 1st place went to “Sword Art Online Alicization: War of Underworld” 2nd season. The support rating was approximately 15%.
“Sword Art Online Alicization: War of Underworld” is based on the popular light novel series by Kawahara Reki, which is published from “Dengeki Bunko”. TV anime series had started from Jul. 2012, and the movie made a great hit in 2017. Ongoing 2nd season completes Alicization Arc that has been continuing since Oct. 2018.
The comments sent to this anime are the following: “This is my first anime series and the protagonist Kirito is so cool! I am always surprised that the quality of the new arc goes above the previous arcs!”, “Passion toward the anime is great! Drawing and story match perfectly with the opening and ending theme songs! Each episode is always like a climax to the series itself!”.
And some comments carry the joy of chance finally see these series after it had been postponed due to the novel coronavirus.
2nd Place
The 2nd place went to “Fire Force 2nd Season”. The support rating was approximately 14%.
“Fire Force 2nd Season” is dark fantasy manga by Ookubo Atsushi, which is currently serialized in “Weekly Shonen Magazine”. This is the 2nd season the TV anime adoption in 2019. Many comments awaited the released of the 2nd season: “I have waited the 2nd season since the broadcast of 1st season”, and “I love the season 1, and I recorded it because I think I must watch this!!”.
3rd Place
The 3rd place went to “Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World” 2nd season. The support rating was approximately 11%.
This anime is based on the fantasy novel by Nagatsuki Tappei, which is currently published from “MF Bunko”. The 1st season had been broadcast from Apr. to Sept. 2016. OVA had been broadcast in 2018, and the edited episodes from season 1 have been aired from Jan. to Apr. 2020.
The comments to this said, “I really enjoy this although I already know what is going to happen from the novel! I am excited to watch this because chapter 4 is my favorite”, “I want to t see what is going to happen with several new characters!”, and “I expect this truly because it was postponed and many things are going to happen in chapter 4”.

To “The Misfit of Demon King Academy: History’s Strongest Demon King Reincarnates and Goes to School with His Descendants”: “The protagonist Anos is extremely cool and both theme songs are awesome” and “I started to watch it because the title was appealing. I continue to watch because I want to see what will be happening next”.
To “Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!”: “Busy life with annoying-but-cute lowerclassman Uzaki-chan is funny”, and “I cannot dislike Uzaki-chan”.
