"Kimi wa Tennen Iro" by Ootaki Eiichi released in 1981, was chosen as the ending theme song of the ongoing TV anime "Kakushigoto: My Dad's Secret Ambition", and drew much attention of the fans.
Actually, this is not the first time for Ootaki to be involved in an anime. His songs were also used in director Yuasa Masaaki' works, such as "Devilman Crybaby" and "Lu over the Wall".
"Kimi wa Tennen Iro" took 1st place in the survey we held the other day, "Which spring 2020 anime theme song is your favorite? 【ED edition】", showing how the song still gains popularity of the younger generation even after 40 years have passed since its release.
Also, in the past, Ootaki's "1969nen no Drag Race" was used in the film "Chibimaruko-chan: My Favorite Song" in 1992, which was produced by Ajia-dou the same as "Kakushigoto" and partly staged by Yuasa Masaaki. And in the 2nd TV series of "Chibimaruko-chan" in 1995, Ootaki produced the opening theme "Ureshii Yokan by Watanabe Marina" and the ending theme "Harikiri Jiisan no Rock'n'Roll by Ueki Hitoshi".
Going back further, he composed and took part in the chorus of "Ganbareba Ai by Crazy Party (Nemoto Kaname)" in the anime film "Ganbare!! Tabuchi-kun!! 2 Gekitou Pennant Race" released in 1980. This song inspired him to create "Kimi wa Tennen Iro".
"Kimi wa Tennen Iro" is included on the limited first edition of "Happy Ending" Disc-2 "'Niagara TV Special Vol. 1' Ootaki Eiichi", which was released this spring to celebrate Ootaki Eiichi's 50th anniversary since his debut, as "Kimi wa Tennen Iro (Kakushigoto Ver.)".
The details and the preview video of the collaboration CD with the TV anime "Kakushikoto" and the artist Otsuki Kenji, "Otsuki Kenji to Megurogawa Tantei Jimusho / Otsuki Kenji to Zetsubou Shoujotachi", have been released. At the same time, the members of "Arekara (Zetsubou Shoujotachi 2020)" that fans of "Zetsubou-Sensei" may have been curious about have also been announced. Fuura Kafuka (CV: Nonaka Ai), Kitsu Chiri (CV: Inoue Marina), Kimura Kaere (CV: Kobayashi Yu), Sekiutsu Maria Taro (CV: Sawashiro Miyuki), Hitou Nami (CV: Shintani Ryoko) and others have come back as Zetsubou Shoujotachi.
The original is a shonen manga that has been serialized in "Monthly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha) since 2015 by Kumeda Kouji, a manga artist who is famous for "Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei".
The main characters are Goto Kakushi, a father, and Hime, his only daughter, who is in the 4th grade. Kakushi, a doting parent who puts his daughter, Hime first, doesn't want her to know that his profession is "a manga artist who draws naughty works". If she finds out this "secret", she may hate him…...
This is about a father who has a "secret" about his "drawing work" and his only daughter who cares about him in the mother's absence. It is a heartwarming and touching comedy with love and laughter about such a family.
In the 6th episode, which was broadcast at midnight on May 7, 2020, Otsuki Kenji appeared as a guest in the role of "Moridokun". After broadcasting the 6th episode, a commercial broadcast of the collaboration CD "Otsuki Kenji to Megurogawa Tantei Jimusho / Otsuki Kenji to Zetsubou Shoujotachi" and a preview video on the official Twitter and Youtube were also released.
The members of "Zetsubou Shoujotachi 2020" have also been announced, which seemed to have been attracting the attention of "Zetsubou-Sensei" fans since the announcement of this collaboration.
Fuura Kafuka, Kitsu Chiri, Kimura Kaere, Sekiutsu Maria Taro, and Hitou Nami have been gathered again as Zetsubou Shoujotachi, and you can listen to their resonant singing along with Otsuki Kenji.

It has been one month since the fall 2020 anime season started.
Not only the main story of TV anime but also the theme songs that show the world of the title in 1 minute 30 seconds attract a lot of attention. Since many anime titles have been released during the fall of 2020, we have a wider variety of songs than usual. Which theme song among that variety caught the hearts of fans?
Here, at Anime! Anime!, we conducted a reader survey entitled "Which song among the theme songs of the fall 2020 anime titles do you like the most?" We received responses from 253 people during the survey period from November 3 to November 10.
The male-female ratio is about 40% for males and about 60% for females. About 50% of the age group were minors, and about 25% were in their 20s.
This time, we will announce the results for ED.
■ "Jujutsu Kaisen" is topping the list of OP and ED!
1st place goes to "LOST IN PARADISE feat. AKLO" by AKI from "Jujutsu Kaisen" with an approval rating of about 10%.
Many readers explained the reason behind their votes as a good matching of song and anime, "The pop-song fits well with the main characters resting on their day off", "I like the touch of characters' everyday life pictures. It is so cool, I could watch anime just for ED", and "The characters' dance matches to the song really well! I can watch it forever!"
2nd place goes to "Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle - Rhyme Anima" with an approval rating of about 9%.
Readers seem to enjoy the differences of each of the versions, "Passionate lyrics make you feel deep bonds between members of the division", "It is interesting how each division has its own individuality", and "They are all way too cool."
Some readers pointed out often appearances of the band, "You can't talk about 'Haikyu!!' without SPYAIR. It was their first ED, although before the band was in charge of three OPs, and I think they are essential music for this title. Great lyrics, inspired by the story, and music that makes you dance are the best combination!". Many readers liked ED's performance, "The highlights of this week are the best. I also like the moments from previous matches."
Moreover, in the men vote only, 1st place went to "Is the Order a Rabbit?", 2nd place to "Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club", 3rd place is shared between "Mr. Osomatsu (season 3), and "Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear", and for women votes only 1st place goes to "Jujutsu Kaisen" and 2nd to "Haikyu!!
