The teaser video and teaser poster for “Poupelle of Chimney Town” (will be released on Dec. 2020) were revealed. The original author, Nishino Akihiro's comments were also released.
“Poupelle of Chimney Town” is supervised by Nishino Akihiro from the comedy duo, KingKong. It is based on the picture book “Poupelle of Chimney Town” that was released on 2016 and achieved total sales of 450,000 copies.
The story takes place on “Chimney Town”, where the sky is unseen due to the thick chimney smoke. It is a “believing is courage” type-of-story and focuses on Lubicchi, the young chimney cleaner, and Poupelle, the rubbish human that was born from rubbish.
In the video that was shown for the first time in the teaser, it was depicted the “Chimney Town”, that charmed many readers and posseses an unique and beautiful world setting in the picture book, in a tremendous picture as if you are in that world. Along with the teaser, Nishino commented “I'm deeply moved! It was an awesome 30 seconds!!”.
In the teaser poster, Lubicchi and Poupelle can be seen looking up at the clouded sky of Chimney Town with the tagline “It's a story about a young boy who believed in 'stars' in a world that had forgotten to look up to them”, which hype up the excitment.
“Poupelle of Chimney Town” is scheduled to be released on Dec. 2020. Do look forward to the futher information.
