The “Kessoku Band” from the TV anime series “Bocchi the Rock!”, featuring Goto Hitori (CV: Aoyama Yoshino), Ijichi Nijika (CV: Suzushiro Sayumi), Yamada Ryo (CV: Mizuno Saku), and Kita Ikuyo (CV: Hasegawa Ikumi), is set to perform at the music festival “JAPAN JAM 2024” on May 4, 2024.
“Bocchi the Rock!” is a TV anime series based on a four-frame manga by Hamazi Aki, serialized in Houbunsha’s “Manga Time Kirara MAX”. The story follows Hitori Gotou, an extremely shy and introverted girl, who joins a band called the Kessoku Band and grows up together with the three eccentric members, including Ijichi Nijika, Yamada Ryo, and Kita Ikuyo, which has attracted a great deal of sympathy.
As soon as the TV anime was broadcast in the fall of 2022, it exploded in popularity, especially among young people, winning numerous awards and gaining tremendous support both in Japan and abroad. On the music front, the full-length album “Kessoku Band” created quite a stir by ranking first on Oricon’s “Digital Album Ranking” and Billboard JAPAN’s “Download Album Chart” in the first half of 2023. The first part of the TV anime compilation will be released in the spring of 2024, while the second part in the summer of 2024.
The music festival “JAPAN JAM 2024” in which the band will perform, will be held from April 28 to May 5 at Soga Sports Park in Chiba. Taking the stage on May 4 will also be ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION, Kami ha Saikoro wo Furanai, and Kitani Tatsuya.
Hasegawa, who plays the role of Kita Ikuyo, will be on vocals that day, with Mitsui Ritsuo and akkin on guitars, Takama Yuichi on bass, and Ishii Yuya on drums. Since this will be the first time for the band to participate in an outdoor music festival, fans cannot miss it! For further information on “JAPAN JAM 2024”, please visit the official website.
