The new animation movie based on ‘SLAM DUNK’, a basketball manga by Takehiko Inoue, will be released on December 3, 2022 under the title ‘THE FIRST SLAM DUNK’.

‘SLAM DUNK’ is a basketball manga by Takehiko Inoue, which was serialized in ‘Weekly Shonen Jump’ from the 42nd issue of 1990 to the 27th issue of 1996.
Focusing on high school basketball as its central theme, the blockbuster hit manga depicted the personal growth of the players and exceeded a total copy of 120 million in circulation.

On July 2, 2022, with the caption “The title and release date have been decided!”, the official Twitter posted an image showing the title ‘THE FIRST SLAM DUNK’, the release date, December 3, 2022, and the staff information including the director and scriptwriter Takehiko Inoue.

Furthermore, the account unveiled the new posters depicting the main characters, Ryota Miyagi on July 2, Hisashi Mitsui on July 3, and Kaede Rukawa on July 4.
The ecstatic fans reacted, “Are we going to get a poster for all starting members of Shohoku?!” “It’s too cool…” “I’m about to cry” “Aaaaagh! Ru-ka-wa! Ru-ka-wa! L-O-V-E-Rukawa!!”.
