In Summer 2021 Anime, Who Did You Have a Crash On? 3rd Place Watanabe Sarasa “Kageki Shoujo!”, 2nd Place Alice “The Duke of Death and His Maid”… Various Characters Ranked in －Female Characters Edition－

1 cour-anime in the summer of 2021 is entering the second half. The viewers will be paying close attention to how the consequence is going to be.

In this term, a variety character have appeared from main characters that lead the story to sub-characters that have a non-negligible presence. Many of you may have some characters that you unintentionally fell in love with at first sight.

Therefore, Anime!Anime! conducted a reader survey titled “Among the characters in anime in the summer of 2021, who did you fell in love with at first sight?”. During the survey period from August 31 – September 7, a total of 220 responses were received. For the gender ratio, the females were the majority with about 80% while the males were about 20%. For the age distribution, we received the majority of responses from the young readers: about 55% were from teens, and 35% were from those in their 20s.

We’ll introduce the results for the female characters edition.

■Detective, maid, stage-girl… A variety of characters have been ranked in!

1st Place
1st place went to Siesta from “The Detective Is Already Dead”. The support rating was about 12%.

Siesta is a great detective who used to take the protagonist Kimizuka Kimihiko as her assistant. Not only her intelligence but also her looking fascinated the fans. The received comments include, “Her snow-white hair and blue eyes are dazzling. She is too cute when she is teasing her assistant, and I fell in love with her at first sight” and “The contrast between her soft spoken tone and cute costume with frill is beautiful”.

2nd Place
2nd place went to Alice “The Duke of Death and His Maid”. The support rating was about 8%.

Alice is a maid who serves the protagonist Duke. The thrilling relationship with the protagonist and her singing voice seem to have attracted the readers. The received comments include, “I like her being devoted to Duke”, “She is cute when she gets closer to Duke and makes him embarrassed”, and “I was drawn into the ending theme song by Alice and the opening theme song by Alice and Duke”.

3rd Place
3rd place went to Watanabe Sarasa “Kageki Shoujo!”. The support rating was about 5%.

Watanabe Sarasa is a freshman at the Kouka Academy of Music. Her purity and brightness attracted a lot of readers. The received comments include, “She enrolled in the school to play the role of Oscar from ‘The Rose of Versailles’. She is 178 cm-tall, and I’m excited to see a new youth drama every week, where the people around her get drawn into her exceptional charms”, “I like her rich expressions, including the scene where she had tears in her eyes when her wish of playing the role of Oscar denied”.

“She loves singing, but cannot sing in public. I am excited to see how she grows up as a school idol!”
Tomoe “Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy”
“She is one of the Superior Dragons, who in servitude of the protagonist Misume. I like the gap between her bewitching look and how she likes Mito Komon due to her memories and uses some words from Period Dramas.”

Misakino Kukuru “Aquatope of White Sand”
“She has a stronger attachment to the Gama Gama Aquarium and strives to keep it from closing. That encouraged me.”

Jeanne “The Case Study of Vanitas”
“She is super cute in the scenes where she is swayed by Vanitas even though she is always calm and cool in battling scenes. I can’t keep my eyes away from the scene of her blood sucking as it is incredibly sexy.”

In the female characters edition, a variety of characters have been ranked in.

Since the votes were split into more characters in the female characters edition than in male characters edition, 12th place was shared between 10 characters, making this such a great battle. What awaits these protagonists and heroines at the end?
