It was announced that the TV anime “Black Clover” will receive an animated film adaptation. A commemorative visual by Takeda Itsuko as character designer appears on the front cover of ‘Weekly Shonen Jump’ 17th issue published on March 29.
“Black Clover” is a creative fantasy manga, written by Tabata Yuuki and serialized in ‘Weekly Shonen Jump’.
It is a story about Asta, a young boy born without any magic power, and his rival Yuno, embark on various adventures toward Wizard King. The series total circulation exceeded 12 million copies.
Since 2017 when the TV anime adaptation was released, exciting magic battle scenes, and ensemble cast, featuring unique characters, have gained popularity as a classic shonen anime. It has been widely supported in many parts of the world as its total view count has won 1st place in 87 countries and regions in 2020 on Crunchyroll.
The announcement for the film release was made right before the final episode of TV anime, which is scheduled to be broadcast on March 30. With the anime ending with episode 170, this announcement meant a lot for the fans as there have been many calls for a film adaptation.
The first film commemorative visual by Takeda Itsuko as character design features the protagonist Asta with the rising sun in watercolors. It gives a sense of liveliness and hopefulness, so please look forward to how Asta is depicted in the film. Further information will be announced soon.
The final episode of the TV anime was broadcast from 6:25 pm on March 30 on TV Tokyo franchised channels. From 6:00 pm, right before the final episode to be released, a special program will also be distributed on YouTube.
On the 1st part of special program, Kajiwara Gaku, Shimazaki Nobunaga, Suwabe Junichi, and Yuuki Kana will look back on the past episodes. On the 2nd part, which will be distributed form 6:55 pm, right after the final episode to be released, a total of 10 voice actors are divided into ‘Black Bull Team’ featuring Kajiwara, and ‘Golden Dawn Team’ featuring Shimazaki, and they will compete to see which team has a deep love for “Black Clover”.
