The latest film of director Hosoda Mamoru, known for “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time”, “Summer Wars”, and others, will be released in summer 2021. The title is “Ryuu to Sobakasu no Hime”, and it takes place in the extremely large internet world “U” that has more than 5 billion registered accounts worldwide.
Director Hosoda has obtained an award in “Japan Academy Film Prize for Animation of the Year” for his previous works, including “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time” (2006), “Summer Wars” (2009), “Wolf Children” (2012), “The Boy and the Beast” (2015), and “Mirai” (2018).
Also, “Mirai” was nominated for “Annie Awards” and “Academy Award for Best Animated Feature”, and not only has it charm the audience in Japan, but also the worldwide audience.
The latest film “Ryuu to Sobakasu no Hime” was announced as “Studio Chizu”, the animation studio that he formed together with Saitou Yuichiro, will welcomed its 10th anniversary in 2021.
