Here at Anime! Anime!, we conducted a reader survey entitled “What cheesy character is full of sweet lines?” We received responses from 127 people during the survey period from November 16 to November 23.
The male-female ratio is about 25% for males and about 75% for females. About 55% of the age group were minors, and about 20% were in their 20s.

1st place goes to the phantom thief Kid from “Magic Kaito” with an approval rating is of 25%.

Readers pointed out various points of the character’s bad side, “He is a popular character even though he is being chased by the police! Some lines are ridiculous and laughable, while others are sweet and squeaky. You can see why Aoko feels reckless against him.”, and “There is a powerful image of a person holding a rose in a phantom thief costume.” Some readers are attracted to his gap, saying “He can naturally speak sweet lines as Kid, but otherwise he cannot. That is cute”.

2nd place goes to Dazai Osamu from “Bungo Stray Dogs” with an approval rating of 6%.

One of the reasons for his popularity is his desire to find someone from his heart, “He is looking for a beautiful woman who will take care of him, and when he sees one – he starts talking immediately.”, and “He talks with all women from the city and inviting them to his heart.” Many readers also commented, “I want him to whisper the sweet lines in my ear”.

3rd place goes to Karamatsu from “Mr. Osomatsu” with an approval rating of 5%.

Readers commented about his internal monologue aimed for viewers, “Because I’m saying terrible lines I’m not popular.” There were also received comments about Karamatsu, “Although he is treated as a “cringe guy” in the anime, I think he is absolutely cool if he will be real.”
