The trailer and scene shots of “Vic the Viking and the Magic Sword”, the latest film by the staff of “Despicable Me 3” and “SING”, have been released.

“Vic the Viking and the Magic Sword” is based on the “Vicke Viking” series, a children's book series by Swedish author Runer Jonsson.
The series has been loved in more than 130 countries for half a century, and it received an anime adaption in Japan, co-produced with Germany, broadcast from 1972 to 1974. Its also known that it was the inspiration of “One Piece” by Oda Eiichiro.

In the new film, the main character Vic will be dubbed by Itou Sairi, who played Asakusa Midori in “Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!”, and received an individual award at the “57th Galaxy Awards” TV category. Éric Cazes, who worked on the remake “Vic The Viking” in Europe from 2013, is the director/scriptwriter and Timo Berg from “Despicable Me 3”, “SING”, and “Pet” is the animation supervisor.

The trailer begins with Vic's mother Ylva being turned into a golden statue by the magic sword.
Vic is the son of a pirate, but he hates violence and is small and weak. He sails off to the ocean along with his father Halvar and the crew, to save his mother and realize his dream of becoming a Viking.

“Vic the Viking and the Magic Sword” will premiere on Oct. 2, 2020. The early bird tickets, which come with a clear file folder, will be sold from Aug. 11.
