Tonko House, which has studios in both U.S.A. and Japan, will curate short animations from the world and play them for free in this film festival. They will also be holding a special talk show with Lee Unkrich, the director of “Toy Story 3”, animation lectures, etc.

In response to many people wanting to join from distant areas, they decided to hold the festival online for a week. The main programs are: “Onine Streaming of Short Animes Curated by Tonko House”, “Talk Show with Director Lee Unkrich”, “Online Demonstration and Lectures by Tonko House members and Other Artists”, “Talk Show with Tonko House members and Special Guests”, etc.
There are 10 short animes to be streamed during the festival, including “The Dam Keeper” by Tonko House, “GIFTED” by Nakamura Yuuka, and “GUNTHER” by Erick Oh. They are planning to add more to the list, and they will all be streamed for free.
“Tonko House Film Festival 2” will be held online from Aug. 21 to Aug. 30, 2020.
They are also holding a project on makuake to gather supporters and funds to enrich the program of the film festival.
