The “Anime Business Forum” will be held in Kyoto, where it is committed in supporting creators of manga and anime and promoting the development of anime and manga, on Mar. 2, 2020. Seminars and a networking event will be conducted and instructors, who are active in the industry, are invited. It will be composed of Part 1, “Seminar on Anime Utilization – Learning about Collaboration between Expanding Anime and Different Industries!-” and Part 2, “Local Anime Studio Symposium -Making Kyoto the Second Base of the Anime Industry!”

There are not only well-established companies but also headquarters of major companies and venture companies dotted in Kyoto where the Anime Business Forum will be held. They say that in recent years, studios such as LIDENFILMS, SANZIGEN, GRAPHINICA, Magic Bus have been established one after another by Tokyo’s anime productions, in Kyoto, and they aim to create opportunities for such local companies and animation producers to match each other in the “Anime Business Forum.”

Part 1 of the “Anime Business Forum” is for those who are interested in utilizing anime for their business. Based on the rapid increase of commercials and web videos using anime, a networking event and “Seminar on Anime Utilization – Learning about Collaboration between Expanding Anime and Different Industries!-” will be held.
At the seminar, CHARACTER DATABANK Representative Director Rikukawa Kazuo, Editor-in-chief of HAKUHODO Gari-Gari Editing Department Hayashi Ryutaro, Director of LIDENFILMS Kyoto Studio Sakamoto Kazuya, and Producer of above mentioned company Edo Hidekuni will be on stage and will provide basic courses on anime usage, such as company advertisement/commercials/branding, the flow of producing anime, and a sense of budget and schedule.

They are currently recruiting participants targeting creators and students who want to enliven Kyoto and the local anime industries in Part 2 “Local Anime Studio Symposium -Making Kyoto the Second Base of the Anime Industry!”
Sakamoto Kazuya from LIDENFILMS Kyoto Studio, Komiya Akihiro from GRAPHINICA Kyoto Studio, Yukisada Kimihiro from Asahi Production Shiraishi Studio that are active in the local region including Kyoto, and Uda Hideo from the anime production company STUDIO COLORIDO, and Sakoda Yuuki from Pancake, that have been searching for how new local anime studios should be, will meet together to broadly discuss “how new local animation studios should be” such as the benefits and challenges at local studios, the evolution of workflows that utilize digital technology, and proposals to the government.

Matsumoto Atsushi, a journalist and researcher, and Kiyabu Chiaki, the original otaku talent will host.
