Christmas is finally here and the city is filled all over with ornaments and lights. People are having a great time enjoying the trees and listening to Christmas songs

Even though it is a Christian holiday celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, here in Japan Christmas is also a symbolical day for friends, lovers, and families to spend time together. What if Anime!Anime! readers had the opportunity to spend the holy night with their favorite character? Which would they choose?

Anime!Anime! surveyed fans about which character they'd like to spend Christmas with. The survey that was also done last year received 122 answers this time, from Dec. 9 to 16.
Male answers counted up to 30% while Female answers 70%. The readership is composed of mainly young fans, with 50% being aged under 19, and 30% in their 20s. Below are the results for Male Character Category:

■Let's do a Christmas party with the lively and skillful samurai Gin-san.
The 1st place goes to Sakata Gintoki from “Gintama”. With 7% of all votes, Gin-san wins the first place this year once again.
The owner of the shop Yorozuya and its members Shimura Shinpachi, Kagura, and pet Sadaharu deal with all sorts of strange errands and odd-jobs in a lousy fashion. It's understandable that many of the fans would like to spend Christmas there. “Gintama” also won the first position for the female character category.

The character chosen for the 2nd place was Amuro Tooru from “Detective Conan” with 6% of all votes. Amuro Tooru poses as a private detective while working for the Black Organization and the NPA at the same time, making him a triple-agent. Seems like a lot of fans want to spend Christmas with him despite his busy schedule.

Tooru's arch-enemy Akai Shuichi is set to appear as the main character in the upcoming 2020 movie “Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet”.

The one to take the 3rd place is Kid Kaito from “Magic Kaito” with 4% of the votes.
Kaito is a phantom thief that does rare treasures heists. His real identity is Kuroba Kaito, and is also a recurring character in the manga and anime franchise “Detective Conan”. This year he teamed up again with Conan in the movie “Detective Conan: The Fist of Blue Sapphire” which takes place in Singapore.

The competition was fierce with a ton of ties in the results from 4th place and below. Levi from “Attack on Titan” and other cool-headed characters seem to be pretty popular. What a gorgeous day would Christmas turn out to be if spent with all the characters listed.
