Collaboration cafes are becoming popular as a place to enjoy dishes inspired by the world-view and characters in anime.

It offers a lot of things to fascinate the fans by recreating dishes featured in episodes, playing a broadcast program by the characters, preparing an exhibition space and original goods, etc. There will be many people that want to visit one during summer vacation.

Anime!Anime! conducted a reader survey titled “Which anime would you like to be featured in a collaboration cafe?”. During the survey period from July 12 to 19, a total of 140 responses were received. For the gender ratio, the females were the majority with about 80% while the males were about 20%. For the age distribution, we received the majority of responses from the young readers: about 50% were from teens, and 25% were from those in their 20s.

■The titles that held a collaboration cafe in the past have been ranked in the top positions!

1st Place

1st place went to “Gintama”. The support rating was about 12%.

Since “Gintama” has opened a collaboration cafe many times in the past, the comments received include, “The name of dishes are funny, so I’m excited about it every time” and “I missed the last collaboration cafe, so I will visit next time for sure”.
Its popularity is huge as this comment shows, “This title has come to an end with ‘Gintama: The Final’, but my enthusiasm for ‘Gintama’ still lasts. I want to get excited at a collaboration cafe!”

2nd Place

2nd place went to “Idolish7”. The support rating was about 5%.

“Idolish7”, which is currently broadcasting season 3 of the TV anime, is often featured in a collaboration cafe. The comments received include, “I often visit the collaboration cafe, so I am excited what kind of cafe will be open next” and “The new season is currently on air, so I hope for delicious dishes coming soon”.

3rd Place

3rd place was shared between “Pretty Cure” Series and “Mo Dao Zu Shi”.

For “Pretty Cure” Series, the comments include, “Each series features its signature dish, so I want to try its recreation. It seems very difficult to win a gift featuring my favorite character since there are many Pretty Cures……” and “The latest series ‘Tropical-Rouge! Pretty Cure’ has a cheerful vibe, so its collaboration cafe would offer dishes to make people happy. I want to try Manatsu’s favorite food, melon-pan!”

For “Mo Dao Zu Shi”, the comments arrived include, “I want shaved ice and soup made with lotus root and meat on bones to be on the menu!” and “This is a Chinese anime, so I want to try dishes that cannot be found in Japan”.

“Since the original comic and live-action film are also popular as well as the anime, there are also many characters, so various kinds of dish and dessert could be created!”
“Butt Detective”
“The Butt Detective’s favorite food, sweet potato, and his usual drink, tea, are perfect for a collaboration cafe.”

“Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song-”
“I want to call back the compassionate songs by Vivy and other characters, who live with a sense of duty, at a collaboration cafe!”
“Blend S”
“I want to try the dishes actually featured in the episodes. Also, the cafe’s costume is cute.” Titles set in a cafe have also received votes.

In this survey, some titles that held a collaboration cafe in the past have been ranked. There were various comments from the fans who want to visit a cafe again, who missed the last cafe and hope for a collaboration cafe to be held again, etc.

Votes were split into multiple titles, which made the survey a very confused battle with 14 titles coming in 7th place.
