“The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light” (premiering on Jul. 2, 2021) released a new short clip from the movie. It features a lighthearted scene not present in the original series, with the Ten Commandments leader Zeldris, and Gelda.

“The Seven Deadly Sins”manga is written by Suzuki Nakaba being serialized on the “Weekly Shonen Magazine” for 8 years. With 41 volumes so far, the series has sold a total of 37 million copies so far.
The movie “Cursed by Light” will feature a brand new original story written by Suzuki, that takes place after the events of the TV anime’s final season “The Seven Deadly Sins: Dragon’s Judgement” which is currently broadcasting.

The released movie clip features a fun-loving interaction between Zeldris and Gelda.
The scene starts in with Zeldris catching a fish inside a river and saying enthusiastically to the smiling Gelda: “The fishes in here are smaller compared to the ones in the demon realm, but they’re also way fattier and more succulent!”. Their conversation is interrupted by Meliodas and Elizabeth who suddenly show up: ”Pardon the intrusion!”.
The clip leaves us wondering what plot will unfold after the encounter of the couples Meliodas & Elizabeth, who have overcome all sorts of trials together, and Zeldris & Gelda.

The author Suzuki commented as follow: “One of the themes of the story is brotherhood. The other is about characters overcoming obstacles and challenges, and achieving happiness as a result. This is the part I wanted the fans to see the most.”
He also added: “I wanted to add more to the story of some the characters, specially for Zeldris and Gelda, whose popularity rose quite modestly during the later parts of the anime. I thought it would be interesting to show another side of Zeldris’ personality when alone with Gelda.”

“The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light” releases on Jul. 2.
