The new work of the TV Anime “ARIA” series has been decided to be broadcast on Winter 2020. Along with this information, it was announced that Satou Rina-san will inherit the role of the character Athena from Kawakami Tomoko-san, who passed away in 2011.

“ARIA” is originally a futuristic healing manga by Amano Kozue-sensei.
The story takes place on “Neo-Venezia “, a town based on Venezia, on the planet “Aqua”. It depicts the young girls known as “Undine”, a gondolier.
The anime started airing the first season of the TV series, known as “ARIA The ANIMATION” on 2005, the second season “ARITA The NATURAL” on 2006, OVA “ARIA The OVA ~ARIETTA~” on 2007, the third season “ARIA The ORIGINATION” on 2008, and the OVA “ARIA The AVVENIRE” on 2015. Fans will surely have a high expectation oftoward this new work.

At the same time, Shochiku's producer Iizuka Hisao had announced that voice actor who will take on the role of the character, Athena from Kawakami Tomoko-san, who passed away on 2011.
“Satou Rina-san will take on the role of Athena in the new work. As we are creating new work, we will surely want to see the new drama depicting Athena, Aria, and others. Thus, we, the producer site had given this suggestion to the director Sato and Amano-sensei.” It was also revealed that Satou Rina-san will take on the role. Followed by the comment, “Of course, Kawakami-san will always be part of the ARIA family ,and Satou-san will be a new addition to the ARIA family. Do look forward to 'ARIA'.”
