It has been announced that all 47 episodes of the TV anime series “Jujutsu Kaisen” both seasons 1 and 2, will be available for free on the innovative television platform ABEMA over two weeks starting from October 25, 2024. Additionally, to coincide with the Shibuya Incident, all episodes of season 2, Hidden Inventory/Premature Death and Shibuya Incident will be binge-streamed on October 31.
“Jujutsu Kaisen” is a hugely popular manga series by Akutami Gege, with over 100 million copies in circulation, including digital versions. The anime follows the story of Itadori Yuji, a high school student who bears a curse within his soul by consuming the cursed finger of the special grade curse, Ryomen Sukuna, and fights alongside his fellow jujutsu sorcerers against the curses.
The 1st season of the TV anime premiered in October 2020 and quickly gained popularity for its deep world-building, intense storyline, and stunning battle sequences. In December 2021, the prequel film “Jujutsu Kaisen 0” was released and became a worldwide box office hit, grossing over 26.5 billion JPY and attracting over 20.51 million viewers globally.
In July 2023, the 2nd season delves into the past stories of Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru in Hidden Inventory/Premature Death and continues the main storyline with the Shibuya Incident arc. The season finale also announced the production of a new arc titled Culling Game further exciting fans.
The original manga concluded in the September 30, 2024 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, receiving widespread acclaim.
ABEMA’s free streaming will feature episodes 1-24 of season 1 on October 25 and 26. The following week, on October 31 and November 1, episodes 25-29 of Hidden Inventory/Premature Death and episodes 30-47 of Shibuya Incident will be streamed. All episodes from the broadcast will be available for free streaming for one week following the broadcast.
