Jan. 9 is “Flu's day”
In 1795, Jan. 9 was the day the fourth Yokozuna Tanikaze Kajinosuke passed away due to influenza. The Yokozuna is famed for being tremendously strong in the ring, but it seems that they can't defeat a flue.
Anyone would want to be taken care by when they caught a flu. If you could be nursed by an anime character, which character would you want to be taken care the most?
So, in Anime!Anime, we had conducted a reader survey on “Which anime character do you want to be nursed by?”. A total of 201 responses were received between Dec. 19 and Dec. 26.
The male-female ratio is 20% for male and 80% for female and the female is the majority. The age distribution is 45% on aged 19 and below and 30% on those in their 20's and the majority of the response are from youngster.
■The 2 characters from “Jump” tie for the top!
The 1st place is a tie with Kochou Shinobu from “Kimetsu no Yaiba: Demon Slayer” and Sakata Gintoki from “Gintama”. The support rating is around 4%.
Regarding Kochou Shinobu: “It seems like she is able to prepare a flu medicine as she had studied medicine and since she is good at taking care of others, I would want to be nursed by her.” “I will drink the medicine prepared by Kochou san regardless of how bitter it is.”
Other than Kochou Shinobu, others from “Kimetsu no Yaiba: Demon Slayer” were also ranked in. Kamado Tanjiro is tie in 4th place while Tokitou Muichirou is tie in 11th place.
Regarding Tanjiro: “He is a kind and reliable THE eldest boy! I can relax as long as he is by my side! I want to be pat on my head by him! I want to listen to his lullaby despite being tone deaf!.”
Regarding Muichirou: “He has the strongest difference in personality as he is both cool and cute.”
Regarding Gin-san from “Gintama”, we have received several comments on “It seems like he will nurse people properly despite complaining about it”. There was also a comment on a specific episode, “The episode on Gin's nursing Kagura, who is faking sick, was so interesting that I was healed immediately.”
The 3rd place goes to Amuro Tooru from “Detective Conan”. The support rating is around 3%. We had received comments regarding fans expectation to his delicious meal, “I want to be nursed by him so that I can enjoy the delicious porridge prepared by him as he is skilled in cooking!” and “It seems like he will take care of me gently while preparing the meals that are easily to digest.”.
■Let's introduce the other commentary
Regarding Chopper from “One Piece”: “The world's greatest doctor. It seem like I can get healed immediately if I am taken care by him.”
Regarding Cure Ange from “Hugtto! PreCure”: “She is a PreCure with the nurse motif, and she is also an actual doctor.”
Regarding Nyanko-sensei (Madara) from “Natsume's Book of Friends”: “The scene when he use his short hand to squeeze the cloth with all his hand and hang the futon when Natsume had collapsed was so cute! I want to be nursed by him!!”
Regarding Shirayuki from “Snow White with the Red Hair”: “She is knowledgeable about the sickness as she is a pharmacist and it seems like she will nurse people gently. Although she might grumble if we don't sleep, it is nice as it is.”
The results for the survey this time revolved around characters that have knowledge of a doctor and an impression of nursing people.
