The popular manga series “Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube” is receiving a new anime adaptation in 2025. The first trailer was revealed along with comments from the original author, Makura Sho, and the manga artist, Okano Takeshi.
“Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube” was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1993 to 1999 with a total series circulation of 29 million copies. The story follows Nueno Meisuke a.k.a. Nube, a spirit medium teacher with a demon hand, as he fights against monsters and evil spirits to protect his students.
While the story based on ghost stories and urban legends sends chills down your spine, how Nube risks his life to protect his students from monsters and evil spirits has been praised by readers of all ages. The series has previously been adapted into a TV anime series from 1996 to 1997 along with movies and OVAs, and a live-action drama starring Maruyama Ryuhei aired in 2014.
It was announced that “Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube” will receive a new anime adaptation in 2025. The newly released teaser visual features Nube’s hand holding up a crystal ball. The visual gives off ominous vibes with the crystal ball showing Nube’s iconic devil’s hand, which he usually keeps hidden inside his glove. You can also see children and a mysterious shadow creeping up to them.
The 1st trailer was also revealed. It depicts eerie scenes of the school and hallways, as well as objects reflected in Nube’s exorcism tool, the spirit crystal. Comments from the original author Makura Sho and manga artist Okano Takeshi have also been received.

I’m thrilled about the new anime adaptation in the Reiwa era. Times have changed, and so has animation, which is now digital. The setting and the children of Class 5-3 have also been updated to fit the modern day. To all the fans out there, please look forward to a completely new structure still full of the unchanged charm of Nube.
