A TV anime adaptation of the manga series “Ucyujin MuMu” in 2025 has been announced. A leaked image (or so it seems) was previously posted on the online version of Gekkan Mu magazine, and now the key visual has been unveiled. Newcomer Momono Harumi will voice the protagonist, Sakurako, while veteran voice actor Kozakura Etsuko will take on the role of the alien, MuMu.
“Ucyujin MuMu,” serialized in Shōnen Gahōsha’s Young King OURs by Miyashita Yuuki, is a “super spectacle x home appliance x cat comedy” that revolves around aliens and household gadgets. MuMu, a cat-like alien, has come to Earth from a distant planet to learn about home appliance technology, seeking to recover lost technology for his species. Sakurako’s ordinary college life is turned upside down by MuMu’s arrival. An unexpected cohabitation begins, and the two find themselves caught up in one bizarre incident after another.
The TV anime adaptation, which was first hinted at by a leaked image (or so it seems) on the online version of Gekkan Mu magazine, has now been officially announced. The mysterious image, which seemed like a poorly edited photo, was supposedly sent to the magazine. Along with the announcement, the key visual featuring Sakurako and MuMu has been released.
It also has been revealed that newcomer Harumi Momono will voice the story’s protagonist, Sakurako, and veteran voice actress Kozakura Etsuko will voice her alien companion, MuMu. A live-action video of Harumi and Kozakura shopping at a BicCamera store has also been released. What kind of home appliance does Kozakura want? Furthermore, a campaign has been launched on the official X (formerly Twitter) account, offering a chance for three lucky fans to win an autographed first volume of the manga by the author, Miyashita.
The TV anime “Ucyujin MuMu” is scheduled to air in 2025. Additional cast and staff information will be announced, so stay tuned for further updates.
