“Rurouni Kenshin” 2nd season “Kyoto Disturbance” to air in 2024! Visuals of Shishio Makoto (CV. Furukawa Makoto) & Sojiro Seta (CV. Yamashita Daiki) revealed!

The second season of the TV anime “Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Roman Tan” will be produced in 2024 and broadcast on Fuji Television Network, Inc. Fuji Television’s “Noitamina” and other programs in 2024. Along with the announcement, a PV of the second season production decision and additional character visuals of Shishio Makoto (CV. Furukawa Makoto) and Sojiro Seta (CV. Yamashita Daiki) have been released.

The original story of “Rurouni Kenshin – Meiji Kenkaku Roman Tan” is a manga serialized by Watsuki Nobuhiro in “Weekly Shonen Jump” from 1994 to 1999. It is a milestone in action period drama that has been adapted to various media mixes, including TV anime, movies, OVA, video games, live-action movies, and musicals. Set in Japan in the early Meiji Era, the story follows Himura Kenshin, a wanderer who has strictly forbidden himself from killing, and a former “legendary assassin” who shocks people at the end of the Edo period, as he throws himself into unwanted battles with powerful enemies to protect his friends and people.

The anime broadcast from October 2023, is a new TV anime series that reconstructs the original story from the first episode using the latest animation technology, and was created with the aim of creating an anime “Rurouni Kenshin” that would appeal to current anime fans. The original author, Watsuki, is fully supervising the series, and the cast includes Saito Souma, Takahashi Rie, Koichi Makoto, Yashiro Taku, Onishi Saori, Uchida Yuma, and Hino Satoshi, among others.

This new information was announced at the ‘Jump Super Stage RED “Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Roman Tan” Stage’ during “Jump Festa 2024” held on December 17. Along with the announcement, a PV announcing the production of the second season and additional character visuals were also released, showing Shishio Makoto (played by Furukawa Makoto) and Sojiro Seta (played by Yamashita Daiki).

In “Rurouni Kenshin – Meiji Kenkaku Roman Tan: Kyoto Disturbance,” Kenshin will not have a peaceful life in Kamiya Dojo, but will have to face Shishio Makoto and his hardships. The stage has been moved from Tokyo, and we look forward to continuing to enjoy this exciting film.
