The latest PV and story visuals from “Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga”, the new TV anime series of “Blue Exorcist”, have been released. In addition, Seki Tomokazu, Hiyama Nobuyuki, and Uchiyama Kouki will appear as additional cast members. The “Look back PV,” which looks back on the past “Blue Exorcist” with UVERworld’s past tie-up songs, will also be shown.
“Blue Exorcist” is a dark fantasy based on the manga by Kato Kazue, which is serialized in “Jump Square” and has sold more than 25 million copies. The story follows the main character Okumura Rin, who has the blood of Satan in his veins, as he defies his harsh destiny to become an “exorcist” who exorcises demons with his twin brother Yukio and his friends.
This anime project began in 2011 with the TV series “Blue Exorcist.” The original story was interwoven with original anime elements, and in 2012, “Blue Exorcist the Movie” was released to continue the story. In 2017, the second TV series, “Blue Exorcist Kyoto Saga,” was broadcast, with volumes 5 to 9 of the original the “Kyoto Saga” being adapted into an anime.
In the new TV series, “Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga,” episodes following the “Kyoto Saga” will be adapted into an anime. This turbulent new chapter depicts the fierce truth, strong bonds, and betrayal revealed by the appearance of the mysterious “Illuminati” organization.
This new information was announced at “Super Stage RED” in “Jump Festa 2024” held on December 16. The story visual was inspired by the “school festival” at True Cross Academy, which appears early in the “Shimane Illuminati Saga” story. Unlike the key visual, the story depicts Rin and his friends enjoying a short time in their daily lives as students.
New characters from the “Shimane Illuminati Arc” that appear in the latest PV include Seki Tomokazu as Lewin Light, Hiyama Nobuyuki as Gedoin Michael, and Uchiyama Kouki as Lucifer.
In addition, Aniplex’s YouTube channel has begun showing a “Look back PV” that looks back at the past “Blue Exorcist” episodes with tie-in songs by UVERworld, a six-piece band from Shiga Prefecture that has performed the opening theme and theme songs for all of the previous anime episodes of the series. The first PV featuring “CORE PRIDE” has been released, so be sure to check it out.
The new TV anime series of “Blue Exorcist”, “Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga”, will be broadcast on Sundays at 00:30 AM on TOKYO MX and other stations starting January 7, 2024. We look forward to more news in the future.
