“Bonobono” will collaborate again with Toba Aquarium, which will celebrate the 40th anniversary of sea otter breeding in October 2023, for the first time in 8 years under the title of “Otter Labo SPECIAL YEAR.” The first event, “Bonobono x Toba Aquarium: Bonobono and Fushigina Yume Summer Festival” will start on July 15. In addition, information on new products using new artwork with tile motifs and other new items from “Bonobono Shop in Ueno Marui – Bonobono Tile Style,” which will be held from May 13, has also arrived.
“Bonobono” is a TV animation based on the manga by Igarashi Mikio, which has been serialized since 1986 and has sold over 9 million copies. Centering on Bonobono, a child sea otter who shows interest in strange and mysterious things, the cute, relaxed characters show us the truth of life in a relaxed manner.
“Bonobono” will collaborate with Toba Aquarium, which will celebrate the 40th anniversary of its sea otter breeding in October 2023, and will hold “Otter Labo SPECIAL YEAR,” a project to commemorate the 40th anniversary. As the first part of the collaboration project, a summer exhibition “Bonobono x Toba Aquarium: Bonobono and Fushigina Yume Summer Festival” will be held from July 15 to August 31.
During the “Summer Festival” that will be held in the world of Bonobono and his friends, there will be food stalls, ring tossing, fireworks displays, and many other fushigi-related events. To commemorate the collaboration, a new collaboration illustration drawn by “Bonobono” author Igarashi Mikio has been released.
In addition, “Bonobono Shop in Ueno Marui – Bonobono Tile Style” will finally start at Ueno Marui on May 13. At the venue, new products using the new tile motif art will be available, including “Embroidered Interior Tote,” “Hand Towel,” “Acrylic Stand,” “Embroidered Pots & Pots Holder,” “White Cloud Stone Coaster,” and “T-shirt”.
Fans are encouraged to come to the bookstore for a signing session by Igarashi Mikio, purchase privilege present, workshops, and an event featuring Bono-kun, among other things.
